Read to the end…there’s another  give away today!

It’s my baby sister’s birthday today! Happy Birthday Deb!!! She’s younger than me and there’s nothing I can do about it!!! While doing wedding prep for her daughter Jamie Brooke, I took some pictures of her most recent project…the laundry room redo!  I love what she did here, her house is sprinkled with vintage and country accents but while antiquing she had accumulated lots of great finds and she did a great job of using them in her laundry room!

Some are for looks only…just because she loves them~

I’m a big fan of the vintage fan! She may want to keep this chained to the shelf next time I come over!

Some things in here are double productive…fun to look at and they serve a purpose, like the bread tin holding her detergent

lr-redo

and the beeautiful Ball jars holding … well little things!

I also really like the use of fabric~ the skirt around the sink and the faux window & curtain! Really softens the space I think! A laundry room is a great place to have a little fun with a few of your favorite things!

Okay, now let’s do a give away! In honor of all Debra’s signs, let’s give away a sign! I love decorating with signs!!!

Time Spent relaxing is never wasted…

I love this little sign~ It makes me think of  those long, lazy summer days~

Just leave an adorable comment telling me what kinds of things you’d use in your laundry room if you were to re-do it! And I’ll let you know who “random.org” picked tomorrow!

Love this laundry re-do! I would love to re-do my laundry with a vintage theme (maybe except for the machines!). I definitely need new curtains for my laundry and more shelving and cupboards too. And maybe lots of lovely vintage jars for my laundry detergents, other cleaners and pegs.

Thanks for showing us Deb’s laundry room. I probably won’t be re-doing mine. It’s in the basement in a little closed off space….can’t imagine how I’d re-do it. Unless, winning your sign includes your expertise. :-)

That is a sweet little room. I love the detergent like that. My washer and dryer are in a closet in the big bathroom. I would love to tile that entire room and closet!!

I would change so much in my laundry room. First I’d finish the room, cover the framing, and tile the floor, and of course paint!.. but being students and looking forward to the big move when we’re finished I’m just glad I have a laundry room for now. (Maybe my next house)

Robin, Jamie Brooke, thank you both for the “Laundry Room Tour” !!
I don’t think Deb would ever mention, mush less open her laundry room
for a walk through.
Once again, it is a joy to see you and Deb carry the one who once carried
you both ~: )
Especially liked the “old clothes pens”~

Happy birthday to Deb! Her laundry room looks so good. Honestly I would not re-do my laundry room – to small and not worth it – plus I’m still hyperventilating about decorating the parts of my house that people see! : ) I love relaxing and I love the sign!

i love this laundry room! so charming. i would put up a shelf and also display mason jars filled with little things! but since i’m a bit of a modern chic too, i would throw in a few simple black frames w/ laundry phrases/quotes….such as “LAUNDRY – drop your pants here” :) i love that one! i’d also display my collection of vases – since they’re currently all stuck away in a closet. the sign you’re giving away is perfect for me too…as i am a born-relaxer! ;)

I love the idea of putting the detergent in another container….. I hate my big Costco detergent containers….eyesore….yeah!!! New Idea. Those creative juices in your family…..they don’t come easy to all of us.

Your sister’s laundry room is adorable! I love the colors. I just redid my laundry room last summer in a coffee theme, using dark country colors. (St. Michael does the laundry at our casa, so I went a little more masculine!) The walls are a caramelly color with black and red accents. (The colors and theme carries into the powder room since it’s off the laundry room. The powder room mirror sports a frame of coffee spoons!) It’s very fun, and I love it!

My current laundry room is in the basement of the house we’re renting. There are so many things I’d change, it’s difficult to know where to begin. I guess shelving/cabinets for some usable storage/workspace. Also, I’ve sent two emails to your rrg723 edress. Did you receive either of them yet? Blessings, SusanD

If I redid my laundry room I would…
1. Add floor to ceiling cabinets on one wall. That will house my 3 seperate sorting baskets in one big section. Areas for shoes and coats etc.
2. Add detergent and softeners to pretty containers and fabric sheets in a pretty glass container
3. Lighting is a must! It is really dark back there since it doesn’t have a window.
4. Paint.

Happy Birthday to Deb! I love the Ball jars filled with clothespins and spools and buttons. I have my grandmother’s Ball jars and have never known what to use them for, love this idea :) I would love a matching dryer to my 3 year-old- front-loading washing machine… the dryer is easily 20 years old.

Robin and Jamie Brooke, thank you for the “wash room tour”.
Deb would never mention, much less give a walk through her
laundry room. That’s a cool room! Again, it is a joy to see you and Deb carry the one who once carried you.

I especially liked the OLD / vintage Clothes Pens~The Fan is cool~)~

Love these ideas. I only have a laundry closet and recently hung a cute basket and one of the same signs as Debra . Hunter thought I was crazy. Confirmation that I was doing something right!!

Robin, thanks for sharing Deb’s laundry room. It is so cute! I am always looking for ideas especially since I am trying to make my new house like a home. I only have a closet for my washer and drawer but this has inspired me to add a few vintage touches so when I open the doors it doesn’t seem like a closet.
