may-giveaway

Happy Foodie Friday ! Thanks to our gracious host Michael over at Designs by Gollum! Visit her for some fun today…the theme is Train Wrecks! I thought I didn’t have any train wrecks that I had pictures of…then, and I promise this wasn’t planned, The Husband and I had a big train wreck in the kitchen! He made an amazing Mother’s Day Eve dinner for me (which I’m going to blog soon!). After dinner we thought we’d make chocolate chip cookies together…he was playing the role of sous chef and I was calling out instructions and ingreidents…somehow, something was either left out or put in wrong.  This is what they looked like:

train-wreck-cookies

Now they were totally yumalicious, just odd looking. Soooo we decided to try something fun. This was my daughter Stephie’s idea. She first tasted this at an adorable little restaurant called Swollow at the Hollow~ Chocolate Chip Banana Pudding!

You just use Broken Chocolate Chip cookies in the banana pudding as opposed to Vanilla Waffers!

I’m serious… this turned out AMAZING!  My cookies had semi-sweet and white chocolate chips in them. I will do this again and use my Chocolate Chip cookie recipe but in a pinch, you could easily use store bought or slice and bake cookies! One recipe of banana pudding took 30 cookies broken into pieces. (1 heaping teaspoon full of batter per cookie)

Next time though, I’m thinking of making some really tiny cookies, about the size of Vanilla Wafers so they’ll look pretty around the edges! Try this for a little twist on banana pudding! Have a scrumptious weekend ~ Love and Prayers coming your way Peeps~

yumalicious

At the risk of sounding like a broken record…I love all your adorable, darling comments! So just leave me one of those little things and I’ll enter your sweet self in today’s giveaway! It’s a magnet notepad and pen and a delightful kitchen towel!

I’ve heard such wonderful things about banana pudding, but I’ve never had it. I’ve had banana cream pie, so it must be similar to that? It sounds so yummy!! Do you use a box for the pudding or is it homemade? The addition of the cookies is sheer genius, way to go Stephie!

Banana pudding sounds soooo comforting to me for some reason. Like you should be curled up with a book, a quilt and a bowl of banana pudding.

Did you give us the banana pudding recipe and I missed it? Do you make it the old fashioned way with milk on the stove? Or the Jello way?
