by Robin on June 3, 2009

Morning Sweet Peeps!!! Today I’m going to show you a fun little crafty thing to do! BUT FIRST…. I want to give a little hug to all of you who visit and don’t like crafts…Remember these little bird magnets I made to pimp out my fridge??? I’ve just made a new flock of these tiny tweets and I want to send one to someone today. In honor of those who read and comment even though they don’t love the All Things Crafty posts…pls. just leave an adorable comment and I’ll do Random.org and pick out a comment and send someone a little birdy for your fridge! It’s a tiny gift but hey don’t ya love gettin stuff in the mail??? I do! Now on to the little coaster craft…dsc_3497dsc_3496

I keep seeing these cute little coasters everywhere! Naturally, I had to try them! They are easy and I think they’d be a fun project for kids on summer break! Or how about doing them for party favors!!!! ?

Here’s all you’ll need:

*Stamps(I love the new clear stamps!)

*Staz On ink pad…(Waterproof)

*Tiles from Lowe’s or Home Depot! (Mine were only .22 cents!)

*Little felt dots (from dollar tree!!)

Try out your pattern on paper first & I suggest buying an extra tile…I messed one up by rocking the stamp!!! Hey they’re only .22!

Okay. Your non-crafty friend isn’t too intimidated by the tile coasters. They’re really cute. A+

I am so NOT crafty that while talking on the phone to a friend one day I mentioned that I was stopping by Hobby Lobby. G…”wait, YOU are going to Hobby Lobby? *laughing hysterically* “Why are YOU going to Hobby Lobby?” *still laughing hysterically* Me..”hey, they sell already made stuff.” *laughing too, but not hysterically* hahahaha Blessings, SusanD

I like the coaster idea – very simple for a non-crafty person like me! I think I’ll have my little one paint some as gift for grandparents.

I am one of your crafty fans and appreciate the coaster idea. :) I have been wondering which ink would stay on those and not come off when wet. Great idea. And I love the little birdy magnet! Is there a tutorial for making those?

I love the birdies! We have had several nests we’ve been watching this year. One has been in the weeds of the garden. My husband had to rototill around it until they hatched. This week, the 4 wee ones are learning to fly. Mom is never far away! We also have a lovely nest of beautiful robins eggs on the barn window sill. We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the little ones. I am a crafter going back 30 years, even owning a shop for many of those years. You can craft to your hearts content…..it makes me feel like home.

Very cute! I have been meaning to make coasters with picture transfers of the family on them for gifts. I’ll have to add that to my list of crafts to do ;)

As long as I hide the stamps when they boys are finished, this would be so much fun for them to do! (Otherwise I would end up with every available surface sporting stamps all over them…) So easy too, and very little mess and not a lot of steps to follow. Perfect!

I love those coasters! I saw them on another blog a few weeks ago and thought about doing some for teacher gifts, but didn’t get around to them. Maybe I’ll get some done for the next round of gift giving.

I made these this week too. I learned that when I messed up I could wipe the ink off right away with a wet wipe. Your’s turned out adorable.

I am off to Lowe’s to buy more tiles.
