Chalkboard Nook!

by Robin on June 21, 2009

I got some chalk board paint and I’m not gonna lie…I’ m hooked!

This was an easy-peasy project Peeps.  I have a dry-erase board in my fun-room that I use for scribbling down lists and upcoming blogs and upcoming recipes, stuff like that. But I needed some sort of board downstairs.  This not so used space on the side of my fridge was just the place…all I needed was a little chalkboard paint (from Lowe’s) and a brush!

Told ya! EASY!!!! And I love it! I put up weekend menus or day to day “to-do” lists…It’s better than a thousand post-it notes and I’ve heard those are becoming extinct! (Say it isn’t so!)

I also covered a little box with scrapbook paper and put a really big magnet on the back to hold my chalk! There was a nifty magnetic eraser at Target that is also up here somewhere!

dsc_3971I found this brilliant idea on this great blog: Just a Girl! Go see her Peeps, she’s full of amazing ideas…

What a great idea! My fridge is stainless so magnets do not work at all! I could make something like this and hang it on the wall next to the fridge and use it for all the cool kids and grandkids stuff!!

Blessings!

That looks great! I loved having space for my multiple white boards and white board calendars in my room at school, and I’d love to have something like this at home, too.

Robin I never tire of your ideas and projects! I have laminate cabinets in my kitchen and have wondered so often how to utilize that clean and empty space! But I wonder if the paint would adhere to laminate? I’ll have to investigate :) Thanks for planting these seeds in my head!!

What a wonderful idea! I haven’t bought black board paint yet. But I see I really need to make the jump and do so! I love this. Especially the covering over the chalk box. Really makes the whole thing unique! I need a spot to remind myself of things, so this is on my list! Thanks!

I LOVE this, and looks so much more retro and stylish than a modern white board. I can see this would be great for my kids to write down things they need to remember to ask me to buy etc too.

Thanks for sharing and have a lovely weekend.
