Anna’s Veranda stole my Summer heart…

by Robin on July 9, 2009

It’s Hooked on Friday’s over at the marvelous Hooked on Houses…today I’m linking this deeeelightful post on the house that has stolen my little heart!

My daughter Stephie was meandering around the internet looking at beach houses…we usually go to Rosemary Beach and it doesn’t look like we’ll be going this year…sniff, sniff…

So I suppose Stephie was dreaming….ahhhhhh, look what she found! Sometimes reality is better than dreams Peeps…Please allow me to introduce you to the beach house that I have fallen head over heals for…

~Anna’s Veranda~

http://www.annasveranda.com/AnnasVerandaTwilight0203-33.jpg

Looks like a beautiful renovation doesn’t it??? That’s because it is! Here’s the house when it was purchased in 2003…it was originally built in 1909 in Marianna Florida and sometime in the 1990’s the house was moved to Inlet Beach Florida! You can read more about the history of this amazing home here~

So Anna’s Veranda is not only a beautifully renovated historical home…it’s on one of the most pristine, breathtaking beaches in the Southeast! Oh my gosh…give me a paper bag, I’m hyperventilating.

We’ve been going  to the beautiful beaches along the Emerald Coast almost every year for 24 years and I’ve seen loads of homes…but never one I loved more than this one. My heart belongs to Anna’s Veranda.

In 2003 Anna Hammer, Dan Jaul (and partners) bought and lovingly restored the home…Anna has given me permission to share her beautiful home with you…sit back and enjoy Peeps. And while your enjoying these beautiful photos keep in mind that Anna loves for families to vacation in her home.  Weddings, receptions and family reunions have also been hosted here! Picture it Peeps…a beautiful wedding reception here.  There’s an adorable blog of a lucky bride who had her wedding reception here in 2008, check out her fun photos…Cupcake Mom!

Anna and her husband Dan decorated the home themselves. Anna says, “we scoured antique markets all over the Southeast for over a year to furnish the house. I spent over two weeks picking out the paint colors.” Do NOT get me started on these paint colors…

http://www.annasveranda.com/Parlor-email_0050B-29.jpg

The colors are one of the most amazing aspects of the home…as I have poured over these beautiful photos.(Anna’s photographer is an amazing talent out of the ATL …his name is Tom Meyer. Click here to meander around his website!)

http://www.annasveranda.com/2BedroomCorner_1258AV.jpg

Anyhoo, as I poured over and over and over these photos, I asked myself…HOW did someone choose such a PERFECT color scheme ?

http://www.annasveranda.com/Corner2BedroomSunset_1755AV.jpg

Here’s what Anna says:  “it’s almost monochromatic…the colors are soothing and inviting”…she’s right! But I could never choosen such a beautiful palette…

http://www.annasveranda.com/masterbedroom8-5.jpg

(I think the wall color in this room (the den/living room) is my favorite of the wall colors.)

http://www.annasveranda.com/LivingRoom1_0759AV.jpg

So, how did someone choose such an amazing color palette ? Anna’s an artist…turns out Anna’s a genius with color! Click here to have a look at her beautiful paintings…

I’m not sure which room I love the most but the kitchen is in the top 3..

http://www.annasveranda.com/Kitchen-email_0055-30.jpg

This dinning room…well it may take the prize. The color of those chairs…Oh my holy cow…I adore the color of those chairs…scrumptious~

http://stephanierice.smugmug.com/photos/430264038_DdRHP-S.jpg

The house is just a  minute walk to the Emerald Coast’s sugar white beaches~Close enough to have views of the water from certain rooms!

http://www.annasveranda.com/SunsetSurf-email_2632-35.jpg

I feel like Stephie hit the jack-pot when she found Anna’s Veranda…the history and beauty of the house, the talent of It’s namesake, Anna and her art, (www.annahammer.com)and lastly the sheer brilliance of Anna’s photographer, Tom Meyer…(www.twmeyer.com)

All the info. on Anna’s Veranda is at www.annasveranda.com~

I hope you’ve enjoyed meeting the beach house that holds my little heart…I know where we’ll be going next time we head to the beach…

Definitely fits my idea of a beach house! I could so easily see you there too Robin. I was pleasantly surprised that the kitchen looked so modern, but still fitting with the rest of the decor and house! What a great find and a delightful thing to view on a Thursday morning :)

Awesome. Breathtaking. Soothing.
I have some of those wall colors in my home already with the idea that I’d be inspired as if I was living near the beach. Love that beach shot.

By the way, some of the images don’t appear to be showing for me. :(

Oh, my. I really LOVED this post. Savored every bit of it. They did such a beautiful job with the house, and it just thrills my heart to see an old place like that restored and loved so much. The colors in the rooms are perfect for it, too–they almost glow. *sigh* Thanks for taking us on this little vacation with you to Anna’s Veranda. I enjoyed it! :-)

P.S. At our house we would have cried for at least 2 weeks trying to pick out colors. I think the best advice would be to call Anna for the colors.

gorgeous, the first picture almost looks unreal. I really love so many aspects of the house. the color palette is great, i cant think of stuff like that either but I think I am learning to move away from the rich tones that I started out with. i am hoping my next house will be much different.

Robin, I was so excited to see Anna’s Veranda featured on your blog, and I’m not sure but I may be even happier to have found your blog for the first time… can’t wait to read more! We had our wedding reception there just this April (2009) and LOVED every inch of the house. It was so interesting to read more info that I hadn’t heard from Anna myself. Anna is definitely beyond talented & the home is breathtakingly gorgeous – even prettier in person than you can imagine from pictures!! I hope you get a chance to visit sometime. We plan to spend many summers revisiting! We have such special memories there. :)
