Fun day with my new friends!

by Robin on July 14, 2009

Today my blog-friend  Vanessa  (Seriously…Trying to live life…not so seriously)became my in person-friend! Vanessa and her bud, Robin came from South Carolina for a visit to the ATL!  Vanessa and I met once before at a blog party hosted by Whittaker Woman and I’ve been getting to know her through her blog but it was so much fun to spend the day with her and Robin.

We went to South City Kitchen for a late lunch…They are known for a couple of things…fried green tomatoes and fried chicken…fried and fried…but hey we’re in the South!

This is the fried green tomato BLT…yumalicious!

This was from Saturday when The Husband and I tried out SCK to make sure it was friend-worthy…their chicken was just unbelievable…

After lunch we headed for the Coke Museum.  Money-Penny, my GPS, was somehow not up on all the road construction and closed roads and detours in the ATL…so getting there consisted of (half )turning onto a one way street … going the wrong way…and a slow ride through some exciting neighborhoods! But hey somehow we eventually passed Ga Tech and I told them that was the plan all along…(Robin’s hubby works for Clemson so she actually was happy to see Ga Tech!)Anyhoo, finally we made it~

Anybody from the ATL ever been to the new and improved Coke Museum? Those moving seats in the 3-D movie are violent! Vanessa said she needed a tylenol after being physically abused by the  seat!

Here we are after tasting Coke products from all over the world…with our shoes sticking to the floors and our tummies a little sick we still managed a smile…

Ruthie was with us but would not hear of getting into the picture…seems the humidity was too much for her hair or some such excuse…

Here’s the thing Peeps…this is what blogging is all about…I am so thankful and honored to get to know Vanessa and Robin a bit better. And I feel so blessed everyday to connect online with so many amazing women.

Prayers for each one of you reading this, as you live your legacy … one day at a time.

Glad all of you blog friends were able to get together in Atlanta for a visit. I would love to meet my blog friends too someday. I have really enjoyed the online friendships that I have developed since blogging. Plus, I have learned so much from all of you wonderful ladies (and a few men too). Love & blessings from NC!

I’ve never visited the Coke Museum and am not sure I want to! :) Have decided we need to get down to South City Kitchen for a Fried Green Tomato BLT though. Wow!

I’m totally embarassed to admit we lived in ATL for two years (and our income came from Coke) and I NEVER went to the museum! How is that possible? :) Sounds like a fun time together. Blogging is extra great when it grows friendships!

Can’t wait to try out South City Kitchen. Looks like something Michael and I would love!
I loved the new Coke museum, but I have a friend whose 5 year old did NOT love those ‘violent’ seats. When you ask her about the museum, she loved tasting coke, but hated ‘that crazy movie’.

Robin, first of all THANK YOU for showing us such a great time. I have to admit, the entire day was a blast! …including the evening after sampling 40-odd different Coke flavors from around the whole wide world! My belly hasn’t hurt like that since I got food poisoning back in ‘89! shewweee!! You and Ruthie make a super team! I was quite amused with your navigational skills in Atlanta….complete with GPS and Ruthie’s know-how. You both are amazing women. Thanks for showing us the town! You both are welcome to come to Clemson any time. You always have a place to stay.
