Cake Wrecks…I’ve had two in the past two weeks. Last week on my birthday I made a Milky Way Cake. the thing was wonderful … but UGLY!!! I think I know where I messed up and actually the little sucker was good enough to try again. So I will. Here’s a picture of the piece of cake, the whole thing was just to horrific to show you.

I want to give you the recipe for this ’cause The Husband said : “I don’t care what it looks like that’s one of my all time favorite cakes.” So I’m going to figure out what in the blue blaze I did wrong and make it again and pass along the recipe…This week (on Thursday) I thought I’d rise and shine early and try again…
Soooo, I got up this morning a baked a cake that I was going to blog about today but I put in powdered sugar instead of flour. Nope, I’m not kidding…powdered sugar. You see, they are both in glass jars and I wasn’t quite awake I suppose when I measured the white stuff into the mix…
When I took it out of the oven it was liquid. The bright side was that as it cooled off it tasted like Heath fudge…really yummy. But let’s face it…it was supposed to be a Heath cake. I’m going to try it again today…and just as soon as I get it right I’ll post it for you. I think it’s going to be good, but really, I wouldn’t listen to me if I were you. I seem to be a cake wreck waiting to happen.
I didn’t take a picture of this one since it looked just a little less than appetizing.
Sooo, that’s TWO cake wrecks in TWO weeks!!! I’m not gonna lie, my cake confidence is a little low right now, but I’m going to bounce back and try again, probably today! You can’t keep a sugar-holic out of the kitchen for long. TTFN Sweeties.~Hugs and prayers and sweet marshmallow cream dreams~
Oh and ps…I have made a successful cake or two. Here are a couple of links just to make me feel less of a cake wreck! Strawberry Cake and Banana Chocolate Chip Cake and CocaCola Cake!
I feel a little better now ![]()

Wonderful but UGLY….Hummmm….I’ve met some people that would fit
like a glove: ) You know what they say, beauty is only skin deep! You can’t
judge a book by it’s cover, or a cake by it’s presentation.
And this is a picture of a cake wreck?
Do you think we might, some how, possibly, find a way to get some
of this FOODIE FRIDAY’S FARE to the Mountain?? Think creatively!
How bout The Husband?? )

Robin,
Your strawberry cake recipe is AMAZING!!!! I made it Monday for my husband’s birthday and EVERYONE LOVED it!!!! The cake was super moist! My mom and sister couldn’t get enough of it either! Keep on baking and posting your AWESOME recipes!

The picture of the “Train Wreck ” cake looks pretty good to me. A train wreck
would not even resemble a piece of cake. It would look like a spoonful of pudding. Yours actually looks like a piece of cake with fudge icing……….. and looks delicious. Wish my foodie mistakes looked that good!

Looks Good to me….I would like to have the recipe…..Have a wonderful day all!!!
I was making biscuits for my mother once when I was young and we were having company. I mixed up baking powder for baking soda as we had them in glass containers too. It took me making them twice, awfully, to realize the jars were labeled wrong and it wasn’t me!!
Just say Milky Way and I am in! I look forward to the recipe
