twitter-carrying one another’s burdens

by Robin on August 17, 2009

I’ve been following this story via twitter. A pastor’s son had a terrible accident last week and was on life support. Word spread quickly across social networking sites. Prayers from people all over the world were offered up for this 19 year old, Josiah Berger.  I don’t know the family. But in a very, very small way I’m  thankful to have shared with so many others, the burden to pray for Josiah and his precious family. Our prayers were not answered in the way we wanted. God did something very different.

Here is a short video of Josiah’s parents sharing from their tremendous loss…

The Berger\’s Sharing their loss

In the midst of their pain they find faith. Join me and continue to pray for this precious family as they travel their journey of grief.

And just a thought for those who think social networking sites are “narcissistic” or “a waste of time”, this is what I love about them. An opportunity to “carry one another’s burdens”.  Love to you today Peeps…

At some point today the friends and family decided to make the video private. I’ll leave the link up in case they change their mind later. ..

Prayers for the Berger family as they continue on this journey of grief. Even a non-twit such as myself followed some of the twitter buzz surrounding this. Good point Robin, social media can draw people together for all kinds of good and can be a powerful force in spreading the word. Blessings Robin :)

So sorry for their loss. I felt that way to see all the tweets about @handsdance. So sad, and the grief that often feels removed is more real when seeing someone walk through emotions as they post about their day.

The video link took me to YouTube’s home page, but not to the specific video.
