Heirloom Baking…Fudge Pie!

by Robin on August 25, 2009

Holy tons of pie recipes Batman! It's a Love The Pie party over at Tidymom! There are some serious pie recipes over there! Check 'em out!

heirloom-bakingI bought this book after I went on my baking hiatus. I thought it might be a bad idea since I wasn’t supposed to be baking…but the book is a beauty Peeps. There are recipes from our mother’s and grandmothers day. Some you may recognize others weren’t familiar but looked amazing.  The list of ingredients used for most of these recipes you’ll have on hand, which is just one of it’s many delights!

I’m going to pass along a recipe in just a moment but first I want to show you around the inside of this scrumptious baking book…

And in the back there’s this hidden envelope so you can tuck away a few recipes from your own past! A-Door-able!

This is the one I’m doing today…Chocolate Fudge Pie. I managed to stick to the recipe except I toasted some chopped walnuts and threw those in! I have a tough time sticking to a recipe! This fuggy-brownie like pie recipe comes from the 1930’3. It’s nothing new and amazing but it IS super easy. Super fast. And Super Scrumptious!

Okay…I’m doing “great” with my baking hiatus! Now I’m going to define “great”: I’m only baking on the weekends and this is at least 50% less baking than I was doing before. Nobody’s perfect and in the end I gotta be “me” and “me” loves to  bake!

I’m linking to 3 AMAZING blog parties where you can find tons of tried and true recipes!!!! Tasty Tuesday over at Balancing Beauty and Bedlam ~ Tempt my Tummy Tuesday over at Blessed with Grace ~ and lastly Tuesday at the Table at All The Small Stuff…there should be some tasty recipes to try…happy cooking….TTFN Peeps!

I love the “Robin” spin on everything you do, you always find the perfect way to make it your own. I see you also included some delicious drizzled chocolate and made it extra yummy and pretty! What a great find in a cookbook.

Please bring me a piece to Starbucks in the morning. I will count it as my dessert, carbs, protein, and anything else that will allow me to have it for breakfast with my coffee. Incase you do not have any more, I will take any other baked goods from your cupboard!

Hello Robin – could you please write a cook book? Put all your fave’s in it…the ones we’ve all been drooling over! I just love the way you make each recipe your own by doing something “extra” to it. You are awesome.

Blessings,
Marie
