Autumn Nesting and a tiny craft!

by Robin on September 2, 2009

In my Autumn nesting this week, I wanted a little something new for my coffee table. But it’s a budget year so I needed to come up with something almost free! What’da think?

I found the garland at Michaels and had a 40% off coupon. It was $4.00. The candles were on sale there for $2.99 each. (May have been cheaper at Walmart)The candlesticks were $7.99 and $9.99 at good old T.J. Max!

Just cut the garland in half and wind it into a small circle, tucking the berries to hold it together. The slide it over the candle and TAAA~DAAA!!!

dsc_4673For about $ 30.00 I have something new and amazing for the coffee table.  I’ll change out the garland for Christmas so WOW it’s a pretty big bang for my buck! It would work great for any old candlesticks you have around the house! You can use the pre made candle circles but with my handy coupon, it was a better deal to buy the garland and cut it in half!

I’m plugging along with my Autumn nesting and here in the ATL the temps are being strangely cooperative! It’s just scrumptious I tell ya. Happy Autumn…or in case you aren’t in the mood yet,  Happy Wednesday! More tomorrow!

I have to confess, I do love fall. Usually I can’t wait because its been so hot all summer. I think my reluctance this year is due to how cool overall its been. Keep working on me, I’ll be with you soon :) Especially with these cute craft ideas that even I can pull off. Beautiful and creative!

I love your candle rings! Very creative!!! I did something similiar for my BF last year. She asked me if I could make her napkin rings for a dinner so I got a berry garland and cut it up and made them! I had so many there was enough for 12 for her and 12 for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All for about $6.00!!!!!!!!!!! Isn’t that just TOOOO wonderful!? I am just ITCHING to do my Fall decorating….I really go all out, it is my favorite time of year and the fall colors are my favorite to decorate around too! Hugs, Pinky

Well done, that is a fabulous thrifty decor creation, that as you say can be recycled again for other seasons. What a beautiful way to celebrate fall. It is my favorite season and although i have moved a million miles away to the tropics it still feels like indian summer to me.

Fun and simple decorations to use and update year to year. I like to recycle my decorations too and use them again and again. Great work.
