~Autumn Nesting…Let’s bake~

by Robin on September 4, 2009

It’s Friday and I’m still nesting with Autumn in mind. Here’s what I decided on for my kitchen door.

But Friday makes me think of food. Oh heck, let’s just be honest, every day makes me think of food. But it’s officially Foodie Friday over at Gollum’s  where you’ll find a plethora of yummilicious-ness, so I thought I’d play at the foodie party this week…with Autumn in mind of course.

I grabbed this recipe from Starbucks the other day. (I posted a Starbucks Oatmeal Cookie recipe here.) They are trying to be a bit more healthy and even giving out some of their signature recipes. This one might be good for you to make for Saturday or Sunday morning breakfast and it’s a bit fallish.

It’s Banana Walnut Bread and as usual I changed it up a bit…

Here’s the Starbucks recipe: Banana Walnut Bread

(Click above for the website and printable recipe card)

This isn’t a copy-cat recipe. It’s from the Starbucks website!

Here’s what I switched up…the scrumptious topping.

Before you put it in the oven, mix the following by hand:

*4 Tablespoons Butter(very soft)

*1/4 Cup flour

*1/3 Cup TOASTED Walnuts

*1/2 Cup packed brown sugar

*1 Cup Oats

Crumble on top of  mix and bake…(If you want to be naughty add some butterscotch flavored chips in !)

This is a yumalicious Autumn treat with coffee in the morning! There are ideas out the wazoo Peeps, you’re sure to come away ready for Autumn!

What I’m so impressed with is your HANDWRITING. :-)

Also, your pictures seem to have a glow. I guess that comes naturally with your home.

Something about oatmeal that just screams fall to me. I have a bunch of yet to ripen bananas on my counter that sparked an idea for banana bread this morning. Your little twist on the recipe looks like the perfect crunch factor and I’ll have to give it a try. You must be rubbing off on my tastebuds even if the rest of me hasn’t caught up to Fall yet :)

This look s so yummy. On a completely unrelated note. My best friend Meghan came for a visit last weekend and saw the birdie magnet you gave me on my fridge. I had not told her anything about it, but she immediately knew it must have come from “blog Robin!” :) Hope you are doing well. Hugs!
