Autumn Wedding…

by Robin on November 5, 2009

I got to help with my daughter Bethany’s best – friend’s wedding a couple of weeks ago! Autumn weddings are my favorite, probably because Autumn is my all time favorite season. I love the rich, warm colors and textures of Autumn. Kristen, Bethany and I met a few months before the wedding and tossed ideas around. We settled on using tiny pumpkins as candle holders and lanterns on the tables. Kristen and Bethany went on a marathon shopping spree and found tons of beautiful lanterns and garland and ribbon and….well, you’ll see!

Kristen wanted the guests greeted with this simple grapevine wreath…their last name starts with “C”! I love this!

The dessert table was 50 ways of fun! Cute candy bags and delightful Autumn sweets for the guests to take home…Scrumptious cup cakes and an amazing grooms-cake too! Kristen’s friend, Whitney decorated this beautiful table.

Every table looked a little different. Kristen framed her engagement pictures which we marked on them with a Chalk- Pen, this helped everyone find where they were seated.

The party favors were also the place cards! These were the BEST apples! Some were candy apples, some caramel, some turtle!!! Anissa’s was caramel I think…Anissa was another friend who helped so much that night! ( Kristen and Matt have great friends!)

Their venue was Park Tavern at Piedmont Park in Atlanta…It’s a fantastic venue. Not only is it beautiful but the staff was amazing.  It rained buckets and buckets and we just went to plan “B”… the entire evening went off without a hitch.

Here are Matt and Kristen right after the ceremony…oh and who’s that hunky man  in the corner? The Husband helped me so much in the set up and with getting the Bridal party down the aisle!

I wanted you to get a peek at the Peacock Blue bridesmaids dresses…the colors popped and I love the shoes!!!

The lanterns were the key to the whole theme. They lined the aisle with lanterns and there were 2 super big gorgeous lanterns at the alter. I loved this and didn’t get a picture of it!

The guest book was a Snapfish Book made from their engagement shoot. The guests signed the pages with well wishes, prayers and loving sentiments. Love this idea too!

Okay, Pinky…you’ve got an Autumn wedding coming up in 2010! I can hardly wait to hear what you’re planning! (Pinky is one of my most FAVORITE blog-peeps!)

Thanks for posting these beautiful pictures, you did a wonderful job with the tablescapes. The lanterns look beautiful as centerpieces and very elegant. I know it was a busy/rough week with all you had going on at the hospital. Very proud of you and love your ideas.

I don’t know how anybody pulls off a seated dinner! It is all gorgeous and you were a DEAR to help her. She will always remember and appreciate that. Love the apples as placecards. Hope you did not have to make those too–Love the dessert table. We did cupcakes instead of a groom’s cake at our daughter’s wedding this past June. The reception was at the zoo ! Glad the weather didn’t ruin things!

I’ve just enjoyed so much seeing this Autumn wedding. So unusual and so lovely and fun at the same time. I love that photo and the couple and the bride’s funny little face she was making. She was having a ball! :) I’ve just never seen anything like this before and what a statement to be so unique! Loved it.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

So breathtakingly beautiful! My favorite part is using the Snapfish book as a guestbook! I’m totally using that idea with our Seniors to take their Senior pics and have my dh make a book of them to use for a guestbook at their grad parties… love it!

The hurricane lamp centerpieces are fabulous! The peacock blue… oh my!
Love seeing your touch in all of the decorating!

I thoroughly enjoy autumn weddings! Autumn is my favorite time of year and I agree with you, it’s the rich, warm colors that make an autumn wedding so inviting. This wedding looks just that way. Beautiful job!
