Twas the night before Thanksgiving…

Twas the night before Thanksgiving and all through the town

Mixing and baking and basting abound

The turkeys were nestled all snug in their roasters

While mom set the table with china and coasters

The kids took their time making lists of their blessings

While Dad dozed and dreamed of turkey and dressing

…hummmm?

Okay, I got nothing…I’m no poet…but I’m sending you love today on the day before Thanksgiving…

And may I leave you with a little photo from Thanksgiving Day a hundred years ago when my babies were truly babies and all of our  family was still here, on this side of eternity…

Although those days are gone, the memories linger. They’re strong in me and in them I find both comfort and longing.

Tomorrow, I will breathe in every second.

Tomorrow we will make new memories that will mix with the old and become part of the whole.

I pray that this holiday, each one of you will embrace your moments.

…as we live our legacy~one day at a time.

Writing, crafting, sewing, photography, blogvilling, why not poetry?
A nice addition to your creative tool chest!
Did you notice in this photo, taken so long ago, their personalities
are beginning to shine through? Timothy, the adventurous, moon
walking, deer stalking young man. Stephanie, the pensive, thoughtful, reflective, meditative…….Dean’s “pondering” may not hold water: )
And Bethany….. lets organize, take charge, NOW and getter done!!!
And Wes……what can I say…..he is tha man ~

Opps, I forget baking!

The picture made me cry . . . this week two of my babies celebrated birthdays.
My youngest turned twelve, my middle child turned 15 and my eldest will turn 18 right after Christmas. Where does the time go?? Holding tight to the precious memories while loosening the apron ties to let our children grow and become adults is so very hard!

Jeanne…it is so hard to let go. You learn pretty quickly as a parent to savor the moments they slip away before you know it.

Sweet Robin~ I’m strolling in to catch up and especially to wish you and your loved ones a Happy Thanksgiving!
It’s such a wonderful time to stop and reflect on all those we cherish and are truly grateful for.
Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to visit and leave feeling inspired!

Even though our Thanksgiving is very small in number, with hubby and son (we don’t count the cat cause she doesn’t like turkey). We don’t scrimp on the menu…from appetizers to desserts with several carb loaded dishes in between! We will be enjoying tryptophan playoffs too!

Sweet Holiday wishes,
Sara
