Christmas Open House

by Robin on December 11, 2009

If you keep up with your favorite blog-homes with a reader would you consider following me!? I’d so love to get to 500 readers! The follow button is at the top on the right! Now…Welcome to our little home!

The Husband and I are empty-nesters. Our four children are grown and gone. We live here with our four pups…ahemmmm, yes, we replaced our 4 children with 4 pups! (Wanna meet the Pups? There’s a Tab at the top of  the page on the left that is : Blog Pups!)  Now, come on in!

christmas-lights

I love this tree in the foyer.  It has  those delightful colored lights of my childhood~

I tucked the hall tree in the corner to make room for the little Christmas tree, but it’s still decked out! Remember when I refinished this? Go HERE for the before and after!

And just off the foyer is our library room. The Husband built in a wall of delicious bookshelves. I love my books…

christmas-in-the-library

I like to put out seasonal books…I read A Christmas Carol every year. Have you ever read Hans Brinker and the Silver Skates? It’s delightful~

The little library room opens up into the cozy den.

christmas-mantle

We can see the library room tree from the den, so I don’t have one in here. But I so love tiny lights so I deck out the mantle~

More of my favorite books and a couple of sleigh riding friends on the coffee table. Remember this ugly table? The before and after is HERE!

The back door from the den is home for a simple little wreath~

And come on into the kitchen! I had to replace my colored lights but I couldn’t just throw away the festive bulbs! My 3 Ball jars come through for me in every season!

Here’s the casual woodland table in the kitchen.dsc_0348

Boo, Bella, Bindi and Ollie hang their little puppy stockings in the kitchen!

Oh, and just outside the big kitchen window on the deck, we’re feeding the critters with birdseed, suet and peanut butter ornaments!

We made those just this week! HERE is that post!

In the dinning room I changed Christmas colors this year…from brilliant red to soft hues of teal and icy silver and a splash or two of PINK!

Lots of photos of Christmas in the Dinning Room HERE!christmas-dinning-room1

Here’s a peek from the outside!  (I found this icy crystal garland at Target for $6.00 and cut it into strips, then I tucked some spray painted snow flakes here and there. I like it with the ice cycle lights. Eating at night in this room is really kinda pretty!)

Thank you for visiting. I’m praying that each of you reading this today will have a Christmas full of moments that warm your heart and become part of the beautiful whole that is you…

Guess what? Richard is making me bookshelves just like yours for my loft. I went through your photos and showed Ricky so he can explain what I want. That’s my favorite part of your incredible house–that and the coffee maker in your bedroom. :-)

Thanks for keeping me inspired.

Love you much!

Us girls should be going to Scott’s next month….if your interested in joining us let me know….I know you said you liked Lakewood and now that I discovered that Scott’s 2nd. building has all crap like Lakewood and even outside booths I look forward again to going down….for awhile there it was a little too fancy for my taste…..Sue @ Rue Mouffetard.
