I was listening to Christmas music today and a song came on that took me skipping down memory lane…
as I was lost in memories of Christmases past, something triggered in my brain and I remembered…this is why I stinkin have 4 kids!!!
But first, there were 2 Christmas albums, (yes albums, I’m very old) that were background music to our lives in November and December when I was growing up.
~This was one~
~The other was this one~

It was on this Ray Conniff album that I first heard the song that I’m pretty sure determined how many children I’d have later on. It’s the melody, Jolly Old Saint Nicholas. But don’t let the name fool ya, somewhere in that melody was the song: Count your Blessings…here’s the words I heard…
I think about a nursery and I picture curly heads And one by one I count them as they slumber in their beds If you're worried and you can't sleep Just count your blessings instead of sheep And you'll fall asleep counting your blessings ~I listened to that over and over again. I thought it sounded
heavenly to have a nursery full of curly heads...
I pictured something like this~So, that's when the seed was planted. I had 4 little blessings. Be careful what Christmas songs you play for your kids!

Love the nostalgia and how you wove it all together!
I agree with Julie, you are a Little Weaver : ))
BTY, those albums, two of David’s favorites. We would crank them up
around November first ~ good ole sweet memories ~ Thank you!!
=) Sooooooo, that’s how it happens!
Hope you and all your Blessings have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Oh gosh, I remember those two albums, but limited my “curly heads” to two beautiful girls and they have given us three beautiful grandchildren…the loves of our lives! Merry Christmas to everyone!
Merry Christmas Judy! And don’t ya just love being a grandma!!!?
I have 2 kids and can honestly say it had nothing to do with Johnny Mathis or Ray Conniff or any song. Well, maybe some song but I won’t repeat it here!
That actually sounds like part of the song that Bing Crosby sang to Rosemary Clooney in White Christmas. Hope you and your family have a fantastic Christ-filled Christmas.

My parents had both of those albums, and now the are part of my husband and my album collection. Johnny is sing in the background as I write this comment. And yes, the song “Count Your Blessings” is from White Christmas.
I had Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney singing in my head when I read that
Love you!

Last year I saw The Johnny Mathis Christmas show (live) at the Fox Theater.
He sang most of the songs on the “Christmas Album” and sounded better as
good or better than he did in the 50 & 60′s……..amazing and beautiful voice.
An after thought…a BTY…an FYI
