Cute Valentine’s Day Mailbox!

by Robin on January 21, 2010

First, I’m having a Amazon Gift Card give-away…if you haven’t already, check out Tuesdays post and leave me a comment to be entered!

A little Valentine’s Day paper craft! You know I love all the beautiful paper out there, but I don’t scrapbook, so I’m always looking for something fun to do with it.  Here’s something fun and easy! If my kids were still at home I’d use this for a little decoration and then fill it with Valentine surprises for them…

Valentine's-Day-Craft

Start with a paper mache mailbox. I found mine at Hobby Lobby but I think Michael’s has them too. I got 3  because I’m going to use them as a centerpiece!

Paper-Mache-Mail-box

The fun part! Go paper shopping. I used these colors in honor of Valentine’s Day!

Pink-Paper

I used a pencil to outline where I needed to cut the paper and then used my favorite thing in all the world…Mod Podge to adhere the paper to the box!

Valentine's-MailboxWhen all the paper is in place I put another coat of Mod Podge all over! I also added a little sticker to the flag and I used my glue gun to add some rick-rack!

Valentine's-Day-Craft

This was super easy and I’ve got 3 of them I’ll be showing you as a centerpiece for the table!

All of my crafts are in the pull-down menu under All Things Crafty or click HERE to look around!

Adorable! There are always so many things I want to make and I never get around to it. Maybe I can make one of these. It’s a great idea to make one for the kids and put a Valentine’s surprise inside. :)

This reminds me of the mailbox Valentine collection box I made once in grade school.

Except of course for the part where yours is elegant and mine was – - – - well – - – - not.

Were the paper versions cheaper than the metal ones I’ve seen for a dollar at Target? I’m hoping…
