The other day while I was hanging out in my “fun-room” I got this idea using a few of my favorite things…

*Paper Mache (Hearts)
*Burlap
*Buttons
*Mod Podge…have I told ya’ll how much…yea. I think I have.
*Craft Paint (I used metallic taupe)
*Glue Gun
*Ribbon and Jute Twine

Feel free to skip this step:
These paper mache hearts had a little gold string at the top. I oh so carefully took it out and made the hole a bit bigger. Then tied a knot in a piece of twine making a loop and using my glue gun I squeeze a bit of glue in the hole. Then taking a sharpened pencil I stuffed the twine knot into the hole. And added a bit more glue…all this because I didn’t want my heart hanging by a gold thread…I don’t know about you, but my heart’s less of a gold thread and more of a jute twine kinda heart.
Paint your paper heart and let it dry.

Now…did you know Mod Podge works on burlap? I think it works on EVERYTHING and I’m out to prove it. Anyhoo, using the Mod Podge adhere your burlap heart to your paper mache heart. I put a nice coat on top of the burlap to help it really lay down. This takes awhile to dry. Don’t panic with all the white, it dries perfectly invisible!
When it’s completely dry have a little fun with your buttons. I put mine where I wanted them and then one by one used my trusty glue gun to dab them into place.

These look pretty in my Ball Jars! Ball Jars are so fantabulous !

This was fun and would make good party favors or Valentine’s Day teachers gifts (along with a Starbucks gift card of course!)

~Hope your little heart is happy today Peeps~
