Valentine Sweets!

by Robin on February 12, 2010

Happy (almost)Valentine’s  Day!

Trying to give everyone ideas on a good dessert for the big day, I tried this lower chub version of a peanut butter cheese cake from Taste of Home Recipes.

Doesn’t it look lovely, delicious and nutritious? Well, 1 outta 3 ain’t bad.

Unless of course it’s a cheese cake. And you want to actually EAT it!

This was a “train-wreck”. Almost no taste. NONE!  (Unless someone were to just run a huge spoon right over the top and gather blobs of the hot fudge and loads of peanut butter cups. I don’t know who would do something so tacky, but if they did, they would get some chocolate goodness. Otherwise this sucker wasn’t worth making. Or eating.) Soooo, I was in a pinch. What manner of yumminess could I post today???

I decided to go with the sure things…Sugar cookies…

I use a good icing recipe found HERE.

And cupcakes, strawberry cupcakes! If you want to try these check out this post: HERE!

If you whip up something for yourself or a sweetie, I sure hope it turns out better than my V. Day disaster!

Happy Valentine’s Weekend!

xoxo

I love to try new recipes, but hate when they are a disaster! It is how we find new things we love and others that are no way! The cookies look yummy to me.

Hi Robin,
You Valentine’s sweets look wonderful! I am trying out a recipe for strawberry cupcakes today to see if they will be good enough to serve at my daughter’s baby shower next week. They are filled with strawberries and mascarpone (I good stop right there and just eat the filling!!!). I am going to review your recipe as well.
You profile pic is as adorable as you are. I so enjoyed meeting you at Karyn’s and new instantly we are kindred spirits…..
Have a wonderful (potential snowy) weekend…

Ok, I’m gonna be honest. Kind of glad it was a disaster because I LOVE PEANUT BUTTER AND CHOCOLATE and can’t have it any longer because of the stupid whey thing!

Salivating over here…
