Spring Fever!

by Robin on February 28, 2010

Bucket full a daisys

I know it’s too early to full-on decorate for Spring. But I’ve been sneaking a bit of Spring freshness here and there. Pulling out some pastel pretties and tucking away the winter decorations.

I have Spring fever big time! Normally winters in Georgia are mild and wimpy. But this year…well,  it’s been freezing and we’re predicted to have way below the normal temps all through March. I can never remember longing for spring-time like I do this year.

Spring Mosaic

The British poet Anne Bradstreet said: “If we had no winter, spring would not be so pleasant…”Hummm, there’s a lesson in there somewhere…

I suppose if we had no winters of the heart we wouldn’t be so open and receptive to spring-times of the soul.

And surely the harsher the winter the more resplendent the spring. So this spring ought to be a joy!

Little Bird

Are you longing for spring-time? If so…do something kind for yourself today… buy some tulips, throw back the curtains, pull out a little something that reminds you of warmer days.

Sending you sunshine and smiles today!

You know what, I say that it is never too early to decorate for spring. Besides, if you start decorating for Spring, maybe Spring will show up a little early. :-) Thats what I do anyway.

I’m with you 100%, Robin. I’ve been filling my house with pussy willows, forsythia, tulips–anything to chase away the winter blahs. I crave spring earlier and earlier every year. Why do I live in New England? I love it here most of the year, but winter is the pits.

Hope you’re well, my friend! xo

I actually heard birds chirping outside my window today! Poor suckers were probably screaming for someone to bring them a sweater. IT’S COLD!

I usually enjoy winter and am miserable once the temps reach 90. But this winter has been so long and so cold and so long and so wet & mushy and so long and so windy and so loooooong. Oh how I want it to be SPRING!!! I love the idea of bring out the spring decor early. I’m going to do that the first chance I get. Have a blessed day!

I love it when you remind me that the seasons are changing. Ricky took down our Christmas icicles (sp?) in the den last night. :-)

Am I craving Spring???? YOU BET!! I am SOOOO ready! I haven’t started to pull out the decorations yet, though. There is still snow outside…..I am praying this is the end of it and it will melt SOON!!!! Love your analogy too, you are such an inspiration! XO, Pinky

I noticed that the daffodils are starting to come up! So exciting. In our house spring starts right after Christmas. So, I’ve had my spring decor up for a while. :-)

I don’t even have to tell you, do I? It was 27 degrees yesterday and I needed to unzip my coat I was so warm! Yes, we “earn” our springs around here and I am convinced we don’t take our warm and sunny weather for granted.

Thanks for the spring-y, pastel-y, fresh vibe today!
