You can tell a lot about a person…

by Robin on March 4, 2010

In the 20 months or so since I’ve been hanging out here, I don’t think I’ve ever missed posting 5 days a week except once. And that was a medical emergency with my daughter Stephanie.

I was going to miss today.

But here I am.

62This morning I thought: You can tell a lot about the state of a person’s heart by what they’re listening to and reading on any given day…

Ipod:

Hold my Heart (Tenth Avenue North)

What Faith Can Do (Kutless)

Unredeemed (Selah)

Reading:

Crazy Love~Frances Chan

(2nd time in a row to read this…)

That’s the best I can do today…Be back tomorrow Friends…

(What’s playing playing in your ear and waiting for you to read on your nightstand?)

Good morning sweetheart ~
On any given day, the best you can do is enough.

According to Mr. Chan, Crazy Love was written for those who want more
Jesus. For those who are bored with what American Christianity offers. It
is for those who do not want to plateau, those who would rather die before their convictions do. A good place to be on a this or any day.

Love you,

dad~

PS: is the Selah tune, Unredeemed?

Daddy, did you read Crazy Love? I was going to get it for you. I felt certain you’d love it. (yes, Unredeemed, not redeemed. perhaps I’m thinking positively. )

Joanne, I so love the book Redeeming Love. Oh, one of my all-time favorites.
As ready as I am for spring…I think a windy snowy day would be relief today. Winter outside reflecting the winter in my soul.
Snuggle in my friend. I feel the connection too and I’m praying for you today, bringing your tender heart before the throne of our Father.

When the day is hard, I hold on to this:

Isaiah 43:1-2 (New American Standard Bible)
1But now, thus says the LORD, your Creator, O Jacob,
And He who formed you, O Israel,
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name; you are Mine!
2″When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they will not overflow you
When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched,
Nor will the flame burn you.

Two things I see so clearly – God say “when” not “if” – we WILL go through those hard moments – they look different for each of us, but they will happen.
The second part is my favorite – it tells us we will “go through” – if we go through, we are moving and we will not have to stay………..hold on tight friend and keep moving til you are through the moment.

Praying for you………….

Silence is in my ear for 31 blissful more minutes, but Sarah’s Key is on my nightstand. Even in your almost absence today you are leading by example of what it looks like to turn to your faith. I hope you find some serenity in your quiet time. I’m praying the same prayers for you! Susan said on my blog yesterday “we can have winter in season, or winter of the soul as well.”

Love you Robin…

I love you. And I can tell a lot about you simply from how well you’ve loved me and been a friend to me. I hope I can be half that back to you. You are loved. And never alone.

It’s Going To Be Alright by Sara Groves is pretty constant for me these days. :)
