I had a wonderful post planned for today. Stephie, Ellie and I were making some pretzel candy coated dragon flies for Ellie’s first birthday party.(I’ll show you next week!)
But just as we started Emma, my pregnant daughter, called. She had fainted in the shower and hit her head! I rushed to get her and Emma and I spent the day in the emergency room!
She’s fine. Emma has SVT (See THIS for more info.). She can be standing still and her heart will jump to 180-200 beats. With her terrible morning sickness, she was terribly dehydrated. Add that to the SVT and the poor baby could hardly stand up. Other than a goose-egg right in the center of her forehead, she seems to be fine now. We’re headed to her Dr. today to follow up.
(she insisted on covering up the bump on her head !)
Anyhoo…I missed the dragon fly candy making session!
So today I’m going with my photo of the day from Thursday…
our once feral kitty … Reba~

HERE is my favorite Reba story. HERE are links to several little stories about her background. (If you love cats, you gotta see this. She’s a miracle!)
Reba’s come a looooong way in 16 months, remember when she found us she lived outside and wouldn’t let us anywhere near her…

Like Reba, I too am learning to trust…
Love to each and every one visiting today.

Hope all is well with Emma and the Baby and GiGi too!
I sure wish I could learn to trust in a hurry. It’s such a process…
Emma, I’m praying for you. Hope today’s better.
I hope you are feeling better today. Morning sickness is like nothing else you have ever had, at least that is how I felt. The good news is……when you see your baby and that little miracle is placed in your arms, you will believe then it was all worth it!
Babies are wonderful gifts from God. You have to go through the process and trust before the miracle is accomplished.
Love you.
Sparkle Plenty
p.s. Reba is a beautiful cat and knew where to come for love and understanding.
Reba is gorgeous.
Emma, hope you’re feeling better.
Take care!
Poor Emma! Bless her heart. Aren’t you so glad that you live nearby and can be there with her? No matter how grown up they are, they’re still our “babies”!
Have fun with Ellie’s first birthday party this weekend!!! Can’t wait to see the post.

) lovelovelove you ms robin <3
I’m so sorry for Emma! Hopefully everything passes soon and the rest of her pregnancy is smooth!
I love your Reba stories, having spent the time to rescue a feral cat with kittens and build the trust with her your story is so close to my heart! No one loves you like a kitty who you earned. I also think that God gives us the pets we need, not the pets we want, to bring his lessons to us.
Thank you for sharing!

Good morning Robin! I hope Emma is feeling better today. I will have to rea about the condition she has, never heard of it but it sounds scary! Learning to trust soemetimes comes VERY slowly, especially if you have been hurt in the past. It comes with time. I would say, hang in there but I NOW you will!
Now, on another note, I just noticed something. You have a note from Brenda Osbourne and she signed it, “Sparkle PLenty”. The story goes that when I was born my Father wanted to name me Sparkle after the Sparkle Plenty in the comics…..(you are too young to remember that I am sure). But my Mom said NO WAY, so then I became Pinky. Who knows where that came from:):) I am wondering why Brenda signed as Sparkle Plenty???? Have a GREAT day, my friend!!! XO, Pinky aka, Sparkle:):)
oh dear sweet reba…. how precious….
she’s beautiful robin… so nice she has a family to teach her love and trust.
and emma… oh my goodness…do take care.
my dh has a heart condition and the other day he was at work and woke up when his head smashed on the concrete floor. yeesh. and he has had an incident in the shower as well. it’s scary at the time…
sending love and support to you guys….
happiest of bdays to your sweet ellie….

Wow, sounds like you had a busy day. Things happen a mile a minute over in Woodstock:) Glad Emma is okay and hope all goes well at the doctor today. You, Emma and your family are all in my prayers.
Reba is looking very comfy on your bed. Ms. Kitty is in the house somewhere right now too. She use to be so afraid we she would come in, now she just marches right into her favorite room and curls up on the bed. She likes it beside all the dolls in the guest room:) thinking of you
Gosh, I am having flashbacks to Stephanie and the birth of baby Elliot last spring! Hope Emma is resting comfortably and will be back to normal heart rhythms soon. Goodness you all have been through so much lately!
Who would have thought Reba would become so domesticated and comfortable in these surroundings? Between Mike and yourself that is some magic you worked.

I am so glad to see the photos of your cat, Reba, as I forgot where I was following your story and figured it would pop up eventually and here she is. It is great to see our pets become a part of our family. We have had the same thing happen, only with our rescue cat that is now truly a part of our family. I will go back and read more after I post this.
You are so lucky to live close to your daughter. I am glad that she is ok. I have mild to severe Vertigo from a neck injury 18 years ago. I have a chair in my shower to sit on, along with a shower massage to easily shower. I also have a chair in front of my bathroom sink to sit on. It might be a thought for your daughter to do this also, to prevent future falls. I have fallen before but never got injured. I will go back and read about SVT. Best of luck through her pregnancy.

I hope your daughter is feeling a lot better tonight.
I read about your feral cat. I’m so glad you were successful in taming her. My feral cat ran off seven weeks ago today. She lived in our backyard, shed, and garage. I had her for almost nine years. I think she would have been a skittish cat even if she had been a tame cat. She was always ready to run when she saw us. On a rare occasion I could pet her for a few seconds while she ate canned cat food, but only with canned food. (It took about five years to get that far with her.) Early on we caught her with a humane trap and had her fixed after she had two litters in our shed. Sadly, she was never going to be tamed. We had some workmen in the yard and it must have terrified her and she ran off in fear. I feel terrible and want her back so bad. I passed out over 125 fliers and I’ve received a few calls from people that thought the might have seen her. The problem is that she’s not tame and won’t come out even if she hears me calling her. I keep hoping she’ll find her way back, but if she wandered five or six blocks in the wrong direction there’s a creek with hawks, owls, coyotes, etc. I haven’t given up and I keep calling her name and putting food out. Meanwhile, another feral has moved in and I think she might be pregnant. I read on a website to keep putting food out (actually, they called it a kitty buffet) and other cats might lead your cat back. I hope something works.

Betty…oh, I’m saying prayers that your cat will come back! Workman make my Reba disappear too. She hates all the hammering and messing up the yard.
Please let me know if she comes back. xoxo
SVT stinks…tell Emma to make sure that her showers are not too warm (b/c even though they feel most excellent this way it tends to trigger the lightheadedness w/pregnancy and SVT). Nothing like a good medical drama to spice up your day. What did the doc say?
Sending you hugs
and praying daily that our amazing God will bless and keep you close.

Poor Em! Hope the morning sickness settles down soon…
And, sweet Reba. I somehow knew The Husband would live with increased allergies for the love of that cat.
