Paint and Paper make All Things New!

by Robin on April 18, 2010

DSC_0305Remember, I’m changing the mood in my house. Lightening up a bit, but doing it on a shoe-string budget! Which means using what I’ve got! When I painted this old table with the wondermus Behr Paint & Primer I was no longer happy with the 3 stars that had been hanging above it for eons! (Any body else notice how one project connects to another project and then another and on and on an on…don’t mention this to The Husband please.)

Couldn’t find a good before shot of the stars! They were country green and red.

But not any more! I used my favorite thing; Mod Podge on the big star to soften it up a bit with scrapbook paper!

And remember, I bought some samples of Behr Paint and Primer that I love? Posted HERE.  Well, since the primer was built in I used it to paint the two smaller stars! It was super fast with that miracle paint! (The small stars seemed a bit bright so I rubbed stain over them and immediately wiped it off, leaving a more subdued look!)

The possibilities are endless with that Behr paint and Mod Podge! Someone please stop me!!!

Idea. What if you had a Q and A day and your readers could send in pictures and ask a decorating question? I have this piece of furniture that I think could be made into somethine really neat, but I’m not sure what….

You are so creative! We are doing the same thing too in our home, brightening it up after a paint color fiasco wasnt working in our home… especially since we have very minimal amount of windows to bring in light… We are going bright and cheery as well to help reflect a more upbeat joyful moode for each of us…

These projects turned out great! I have some craft brown letters (spelling my sons name) that need a makeover… maybe paper is the solution. :)
We have a Friday Fun Finds party (on Fridays, of course)… If you’re interested, we’d love it if you’d link up this week!
