Beachy Burlap Wreath

I’ve been wanting to try making one of the burlap wreaths that are all over blog-land.

They’re cheap and easy and you know how I love cheap and easy!

All you need is: Burlap, a ribbon for hanging and a Coat Hanger bent into a circle. (Not and easy thing to do my friends!)

I got 1 yard of light color burlap since it’s Summer and all! Then cut it into 4″ strips…

Just fold accordion-fold the strips…

And thread the coat hanger right through the center of the folds!

DSC_0201Continue doing this with all your strips. Your coat hanger will be too big just twist it together to make the wreath and snip off the extra wire.

I didn’t have any ribbon I liked so I cut a piece of fabric and frayed the edges.

It was kinda fun!

And look what a cute “ribbon” it made!

(I thought the fabric looked like Neapolitan Ice Cream…that may be because it’s my 7th day without SUGAR and EVERYTHING looks like some sort of scrumptious sweet!!!)

Since I’m in a summer state of mind, I decked out the wreath with a few beachy things!

I think I like the white starfish…

Super cute, easy and cheap!

I found Burlap Garland at Michael’s for under $4.00! It’s in the floral accessories. I made an Autumn Burlap Wreath and used the Burlap Garland, cutting it in half and following the steps above. It was sooooooo easy compared to cutting a ton of burlap! xo

Hi! Stopping by for a visit from MM. I love your wreath! We’re a cowboy/rodeo family, so the burlap would be great for something western-y for us, too! :) Thanks for sharing!
