Colors Answer the Feelings in Man…

“Colors answer the feelings in man…”

~John Sterling

I’ve been sensing changes in me for a long time.

Colors1Quiet gentle changes.

40And when things change on the inside, how many of you notice that it isn’t very long before the change, good or bad, bubbles up and spills onto the world around you?

I can’t help expressing my heart.

On paper with words.

Or in my tiny world.

I just turned 49 and I can make a detailed list of every single issue I’m having with getting older because after all, getting older is downright shocking.

But, as in all-things, getting older has profound possibility, and if you look closely you may even find, infinite promise.

The Husband and I are empty-nesters. I have more time now than I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve been able to ease out of the survival-mode I was in for years and quiet my spirit.

These days I can listen to the music God is playing inside me.

52I can see soft, blurry outlines of the legacy He’s allowing me to live.

Ellie on the beach editedI’m more aware of  the whisper in my ear, this is the way Child…

July-29 And I’m doing less (emotional) battening down the hatches and more tiptoeing onto the water…

And as expected, I’ve started expressing these subtle changes…colors

This is the reason my little white house is peeling off her warm, fuzzy, sweater-like ambiance and slipping into a more soft, gentle breezy mood.

She’s just changing her colors to reflect the feelings inside me…

My what a beautiful post and so thought provoking! Love your new colors! I have a couple of years on you… and being “older” isn’t that bad especially when you are an empty nester. It’s like being young again only wiser to appreciate all that you have and can do. Enjoy it! Have a great day! Color Chic

I see it oozing out here everywhere. There is even a subtle shift in your “voice” and its quite soothing and comforting. I’m entranced.

I too am an empty nester, and want some changes to softer, subtle, and relaxing atmosphere in my home. I have some bright colors that will be hard to make a change, and so I am trying to work with what I have got. Thanks for sharing. Jackie

thanks for reflecting how you feel. getting older has it’s advantages,to have more time with hubby, to develop skill s, recognizing that time is precious and savor it.
