It’s the Den DIY around here this week! So far :
Monday: Round Coffee Table from a Dinning Room Table
Tuesday: Painting Wood Blinds!
And last week: An Ottoman from an Old Table
And today…more easy curtain panels! These are very much like the beachy curtains I made for the little Library Room. Posted HERE.
So simple…

You know my opinion on the top 2 things that make a HUGE decorating statement for very little money…
1st- Paint
2nd-Fabric
I fell in love with this fabric. It’s called Emma’s Garden…
But the fabric was a bit stiff and to me stiff fabric is crisp and pristine looking but it’s also a bit more formal. I like formal in other people’s houses but truly friends, no one has ever accused me of being formal.
So I went totally against the recommended: DRY CLEAN ONLY rule. I washed the fabric in warm water and dried it right smack in the dryer before I started sewing.
This little process softened it beautifully.
It also shrunk it…(So if you plan on breaking the dry-clean only rule…buy extra! And I’d experiment with a small piece before throwing the whole bunch of fabric into the wash!)
I ironed the fabric before I started sewing.
There isn’t an easier curtain to sew…simply measure- cut- turn under a narrow hem & sew on all 4 sides!

I sewed lace strips every few inch’s to the top of the panels. (Leaving about 6″ between each)
The lace strips will tie the curtains to the curtain rods…

These are my old curtain rods. They used to be black until I spray painted them! (I used a metallic spray paint: Nickle-Satin)

Four simple panels…

We have a door in the den, I hemmed a rectangle of fabric and attached the lace strips. It’s not a long panel but has a similar feel.

The curtains ended up costing under $120.00 and were easy, easy, easy!
Have a super easy day Peeps!

Jackie…that is just a rectangle of fabric about 50% (maybe a bit more) wider than my window and hemmed on all 4 sides. Sew the lace ties a few inch’s apart and done! Sew Easy!xoxo

Pinky…you are soooo sweet!
This look helps me know what to do with my new darkening bedroom curtains. Push them apart during the day! Love this, Rob.
Nicely done! The curtains look great. We’d love to see your use curtain tracks instead of rods for your next project!
Dearest Robin,
I am in a total “ooooo and ahhhh” state of mind, right now! Your draperies are beautiful! I love the dreamy shade of blue! You are so very creative with the addition of the lace….it’s elegant, feminine, chic…..cottagey….It’s absolutely gorgeous! You are inspiring me to get back to my long over due master bedroom redo that I started last Spring!
It is a total JOY to visit your wonderful blog! Thank you for making my day even brighter!
Blessings and friendship,
Carolynn
