I’ve bee eying metallic side tables for some time and when I found this gorgeous metallic paper at the Paper Source, I knew exactly what I wanted to do …
I love fabric and/or paper on furniture. Earlier this year I added a bit of burlap to the drawer fronts of a side table in my kitchen HERE. And I’ve been wanting to try adding paper to a table ever since! This metallic silver table was perfect for my experiment!
This table was really inexpensive and has been painted twice already! I sanded her down and applied 2 coats of metallic silver paint. There are several metallic silvers on the market, the most popular being Martha Stewart Living. But honestly, the next thing I paint metallic, I’ll try metallic spray paint!
Because the paper is silver with this beautiful accent of gold metallic, I thought I’d try to get the table to look similar…
So I used my Krylon Gold Leaf spray paint (which I love).
I sprayed some (at close range) on my rag and quickly wiped it over the top of the table…
Then went back with some silver and dry-brushed it over the gold…allowing some of the gold to show through…(aren’t those knobs pretty? They look like mercury glass, I got them at Hobby Lobby!)
Then I cut the paper to size and used good old Mod Podge to adhere it to the table…I love love love the way this turned out!
Our backyard project has grown and grown so all the other projects on our to-do list are being pushed back, including the master bedroom! But
Sending love my sweet friends
