Hi! I’m Robin…just a southern girl who longs for snow…

I am married to The Husband who is my BFF. We’re empty nesters to four amazing grown-up children each bringing  “significant others” to our family.  We have 3 precious granddaughters and another on the way! Our ‘Tiny-Loves’ have given us new names, these days we’re Gigi & Pop Pop and we love it!

Middle age has thrown me a few surprises, the biggest: being diagnosed with Celiac Disease in May of 2011.

So my love affair with food has really taken a turn. I’m learning to cook and bake gluten free. My recipes will either be Gluten Free ~Naturally or Gluten Free Easily! I don’t want to exclude my friends who eat gluten, so I’m trying to cook: “everybody-friendly”!

This  little  blog is called All Things Heart and Home and if you hang out with me here you’ll find… those recipes I was telling you about, decorating projects, DIY projects, craft ideas, sewing projects as well as heart-posts where I share my journey.

Since my mom died suddenly at only 65, I’ve been profoundly aware that each one of us are living the legacy that we will one day leave behind. Mom left a rich legacy of faith and creativity that will live on in the lives of her grandchildren. I’m determined to live my legacy with the same intentionality that she did…

Please drop in anytime. Let’s sit for a moment, maybe sip some coffee and see if we can inspire one another to creatively live the legacy we want to leave…Hugs and smooches ~ Robin

Hi There!

Thanks for your recent post on my blog “wild child”. I’m glad you liked my magnet boards :) I’ve had a great time perusing your creative blog – and I’m adoring your pups too!

You had asked where I found the metal sheets for the magnet board project I made… They are galvanized metal and can be hard to find. You can find the sheets at home improvement stores – sometimes they will cut them for you and sometimes they won’t… You may want to look online too.

Be sure to let me know if you do the project!

Hugs,
Meg :)

So glad to have “met” you today Robin. (I’ve been following you on twitter, but now I feel like I know you a little better.) I love your heart for home and family. I feel like I’ve found a kindred spirit. While I’m not as crafty as you, my utmost desire is to create a loving home environment for my family and friends. I love your blog so much, I’ve added it to my blogroll. Thanks for making my “Manic Monday” a little brighter!!

Did you read my comment on Reba?

Love Reba – my husband was allergic – but God healed him. We have an 8 yr. old male orange tabby (Tigger) and an 8 month old orange tabby stray (Pooh Bear). We believe in miracles!!

I love your tag line on your banner. Living my legacy. Also, in your winter home post, I love the idea of putting a candle in a candy dish! DUH! I have scraped wax off so much furniture and carpet!

Hi,

I came across your blog while looking for a bookmark idea to make for an African-themed ministry event, Girlfriends on Safari, that I’m helping to plan at Bethany Baptist Church in Salem Oregon.

I loved your ribbon bookmarks, and enjoyed reading your posts about living your life of love(-:

Oh my…I think I found a new BFF! You may even be a long lost twin that was just born a decade earlier. Either way…we are sisters in Christ and bosom buddies who have yet to meet. But one day, hopefully sooner than later, we will catch up. =)

Hi Robin! just found your blog. I see we have a few things in common, empty nesters, but happy, like to design on a dime, love crafting, and other things, but the one I like most is that we have a love for books!! Love everything about your house, but I was so amazed when I saw your library!! We have tones of books also. In the future I am planning to turn one of my daughter´s old room into a library. Love your creative fun way of writing. Anyway, will visit often!

Hello Robin, I love your blog. I was ‘roaming’ on the blog world and came across your site. I have been called ‘Martha Stewart’ many times over the years and I’m sure you have also. I am new to this blog format, so mine is not as ‘eye-appealing’ as yours. I have been only blogging on my spiritual journey but we have many interests in common as I look through your pages… Enjoying every site I see! Be Blessed!

Genny! So nice to meet you! Getting settled in the empty-nest phase was not so easy for me. But I’ve discovered so many good things as I’ve settled in. My relationship with every one of my grown-up kids is even deeper and better and The Husband and I have discovered the more time we have the more we love love love just being together. I look forward to getting to know you my new friend! xo

I too am becoming an empty nester. My daughter is getting married in less than 2 months. My baby just left for college in Pennsylvania. We live in Michigan. My oldest moved south to North Carolina and is a Seminary student and part time youth pastor. I too have been very blessed with great children and a GOD (Jessus) that loves me. I look forward to reading your blog. I don’t usually do this but your caught my interest. By the way snow is over rated. haha Elaine
