I know it’s just mid-October but there are lots of you who are already thinking about gift-giving for Christmas. I’m going to be posting some budget-friendly ideas over the next 6 weeks…
I love doing things with place-mats. If you look, you can find them (off season) on sale. I have done a couple of fun things with quilted place mats this is the first…
I thought I’d use this Heat and Bond Vinyl that I’ve been wanting to try for awhile. All the instructions are included, it’s super easy to use.
I used a bib I already had for the pattern and cut the place mat and the vinyl from the pattern.
I’ve got to start making my own bias tape but for this project I just dipped into my stash. I pinned half the tape onto the bib and used this Heat and Bond tape to hold the other half. I wanted to see if the tape was that much easier…it was a toss up in my humble opinion.
I used Velcro for the closure and left the bottom of the bib just like I cut it out with the place mat’s cute edge just adding a decorative stitch for color.
This was super fast and super cheap! The Heat and Bond Vinyl went on great now I’ll see how well it wears when Ellie tests it!!!
