It’s the most wonderful time of the year, but it’s also the busiest! If you’re anything like me, the only big project I do in November and December is decorating the house for Christmas! But how about a project that takes under an hour?
For a few weeks, I’d been looking for a couple of pillows and a table runner that reflected my Snowy-Woodland Christmas theme for this year. I found some pillows but they were pricy and I didn’t find even one table runner that would work for the kitchen table, sooooo, I decided to make some!
It was so easy and super fast, which is exactly what a project should be during the holidays!
All you need for this project is:
*Stencil (I got this one at Hobby Lobby)
*Craft paint (I used white & pearl white and mixed them for a shimmery effect)
*A foam roller. (Hobby Lobby)
*Pillows & burlap for the table runner
Put a piece of cardboard under the fabric & tape the stencil onto the front of the fabric.
Put a little paint on a paper plate or a piece of cardboard and mix your colors, then load your roller, rolling off the excess to you have just a tad on the roller…
Roll carefully over your stencil and them move it and repeat!
Eyeball the pattern and add more stencils until it looks just right!
For the table runner, before I stenciled… I cut burlap to the correct length and width then frayed the edges and sewed a zig zag stitch all the way around to keep the ends from fraying more!
This took under an hour!
And I love them! (The Husband came home and wrinkled his brow and said: “Robin, I swear you’ll end up painting every single thing in this house before it’s all said and done. Don’t you dare paint my leather chair” …)
He acts like I paint a lot! 🙂

Clapping my hands and jumping up and down, squealing with delight…omgeee Robin!!! So this past November my son was married, we had to throw together a quick wedding and wedding shower…it was country elegant. I grabbed some burlap and cut and gathered and threw it all over as table runners, bows and what have…So I was wanting something on my mantle this year in my Christmas decorating…I wanted some type of cloth to come over the edge of the mantle…now I know what project I will be doing this weekend!!! I’ve changed my Christmas decor a bit to add some “country elegant” in with touches of pine cones, burlap, berries and such….love this time of year and you sharing your inspirations!! Like I”ve said before Robin, you sure inspire me!! Thank you!!!
Okay, this looks soooo simple. I believe I can do it, and I love how you blended the rustic look of burlap with the lightness of the white paint. Very creative, my friend. As always!
You. Inspire. Me.
I love them!! So simple too. I don’t know what it is about snowflakes but I just love them!! 🙂
I have to say that this along with your snow globes from last year are my two favorite projects that you have shared with us. I love the natural, woodsy look and snowflakes. Cheers to you for such a simple project that looks beautiful!!!

You always have the best ideas, and in my book this one takes the cake. I love it. The centerpiece on your table is perfect too. I adore the little deer.
So pretty- I saw these neutral and natural colors at Target and it makes me want to re-do all my decorations. What a great way to incorporate some of those ideas for a fraction of the cost. Beautiful work Robin!
So simple yet so elegant. Thank you for this wonderful idea. I want to change my Christmas look this year and I think I’ve found it!
Ruth, I’m so happy you liked these! xo
