It’s half-way through 2011.
How time flies.
Sacred-holy … time.
And you miss something.
I got an email from Alece who writes Grit and Glory She was reminding me to take a look back at how my “one-word” has impacted the first half of 2011.
What have I learned so far? Is the lesson of my one-word different than I imagined?
Isn’t it always different than we imagine?
God’s ways are just not our ways, so my expectations are almost always different than reality.
But this year different has been better.
It’s the message that keeps me coming back.
The message I believe God sent me for-such-a-time-as-this…
My One-Word for 2011 is Believe.
When this word choose me back in December, here’s what I said about my expectations: (HERE is my One Little Word post)
I’m not talking about believing in a particular thing. I’m talking about a shift in perspective.
Less wrinkled brow.
Less suspicious eyes.
Less protecting my heart.
After all, you can’t believe without lifting the protective walls.
And God’s using the book, One Thousand Gifts to take me further on my journey of trust…trusting Him.
Believing that nothing comes to me unless first filtered through the fingers of a loving God.
Believing that He is in control.
And naturally, with this belief comes letting go.
And with letting go I’ve noticed…
~less wrinkled brow.
~less suspicious eyes.
~less protecting my heart.
Did you choose one-little-word for 2011? If so, would you take a moment a share a little of you’re adventure so far?
Love to each and every one of you…smooch.
I’m still counting gifts…
