Not 1, not 2 but 3 Easy Pretzel Candy recipes for your last minute sweet treats!!! Why 3? Because I have Celiac and when I buy a bag of Gluten Free Pretzels, it’s very nearly an investment at over $6.00 a bag! So I use that entire bag to make 3 easy and oh-so-yummy candies! Ready?
Sooo, if you’re playing in the kitchen getting ready for Halloween or need a quick treat for any holiday–these are perfect! Just change up your candy colors and sprinkles!
I’m going to give you my favorite recipe first! I got this from Jamie Cooks It Up and it’s AMAZING!
8 ounces of pretzels (gluten free if you have Celiac)
1 cup butter (I use salted)
1 cup brown sugar (I use salted)
2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
A couple of handfuls of Caramel Candy Melted
Preheat ove to 375*
Line a large cookie sheet with foil
Pretzels don’t have to be broken but they can be…
Toss butter and brown sugar into sauce pan- bring it to a boil over med. heat. Stir to blend
When the mixture comes to a rolling boil, keep the heat at medium and stop stirring. Let it boil for 3 minutes-
Pour the hot candy over the top of pretzels, don’t worry if some of the pretzels aren’t quite covered, the candy will spread during baking…
Put into over and bake for 5 minutes…take pan out-
Immediately spread chocolate chips over the top of hot candy. Allow the chocolate to sit for 5 minutes and then spread melting chocolate over the tip to the bark.
Using a spoon pour/drizzle melted caramel over bark
Allow the candy to set up (put in the fridge to speed up process)
cut or break into chunks and have a snack! You’ll love this!
Store leftovers in airtight container
The next 2 recipes are so yummy and so easy that your little one could make them!
1 bag of Hershey’s Kisses milk chocolate
Pretzels (Gluten Free if you have Celiac)
M&M’s (regular-don’t use holiday M&M’s if you have Celiac-they are processed in plants with things containing wheat)
Spread pretzels on parchment lined cookie sheet-add a Hershey’s kiss to each pretzel…put in a 350* oven for 3 minutes until chocolate is just getting melted but hasn’t lost it’s shape!
press an M&M into each chocolate kiss and let them cool!
Pretzels (GF if you have Celiac)
1 bag of Nestles White Chocolate
Shortening (I use Spectrum Oraganic)
melt white chocolate in microwave adding 1/2 teaspoons of shortening as you stir at 15 to 30 second intervals …the chips won’t completely melt just stir until mostly melted.
Stir pretzels into melted chocolate then take out and lay in single file onto parchment to dry
Sprinkle the sprinkles all over them!
They’ll dry in an hour or so or you can pop them into the fridge to harden the chocolate faster!
So there’s a way to use up that expensive bag of gluten free pretzels and have the BEST treats this holiday season!
