My tendency is to do things in the slowest and hardest way possible. Sad but true.
I’m serious.
A quick trip to the grocery for 3 items, turns into 3 hours at Target and 30 items, before I even realize what’s happening.
This stress-inducing tendency is something I’ve battled for as long as I can remember.
And it’s not only stress-inducing it’s destructive, because it chips away at my most important commodity…time.
With the holidays just around the corner, who wouldn’t want to give themselves a few extra moments here or there?
This is why I love quick and easy projects like these 5 minute embroidery hoop ornaments. They scratch my creative itch without draining my day.
These cuties can be adapted to any theme and color.
I made mine with plaid and cute deer silhouettes.
Today, I’m so honored to be closing out 31 Days of Handmade Christmas Ornaments with some of my favorite friends. Hang with me and I’ll show you the other 30 ornaments in a couple of seconds!
Just as soon as we take 5 to make a few of these guys…
Here’s what You Need:
*Embroidery Hoops ( I used this size)
*Background Paper—->Craft Paper: HERE, Fabric: HERE or Tissue Paper: HERE—> in your color & pattern choice-
*Shapes—-> Cute Stickers HERE, Gift Wrap HERE , Pastel Deer HERE , Woodland Creatures HERE
Christmas card or a cute gift bag with repeated pattern wold work for your cut out pattern! Just make sure your shape will fit in your hoop!
*Paper cutting scissors (helps to have smaller scissors with pointed tip)
1- Simply put the background material (or paper) into your hoop and tighten. If needed- trim around the outside edge.
2- Cut out your design and glue it onto the background.
3-Add a thin topcoat.
4- Tie twine or ribbon for hanging.
If you love making things or just want to add some new ornaments to your tree, do yourself a favor and create a little time in your holiday season by keeping it simple…
(These would also make sweet little gift tags or use them to decorate a Christmas present.)
And good news…If you like the idea of giving yourself the gift of time, I have some more 5 minute ornaments…
