Take a closer look…you may be surprised.

It’s mid-June! Almost half of 2010 has come and gone…wow!
How many of you chose “one little word” for the year? (Ali Edward style)
About October – November of every year, I start asking God to put a “theme” in my heart and my head for the upcoming year. For 2010, I believe my theme is : ‘friendship’.
(I wrote about that HERE)
I also had a few goals for 2010.
I’m going to take some time this week and take a close look at where I am and where in the world I’m headed in the last half of 2010…
How many of you made resolutions? Did you make a list of projects? Goals? A reading list for 2010?
How are ya doing on your goals or projects? If you picked “One Little Word” what was it and what have you learned about that word?

Good morning sweetie! I guess I am a bad person but I didn’t pick a word and I didn’t really make a goal except to lose weight for the wedding. I HAVE been working out 4-5 days a week but no weight is coming off!!! I am blaming that on my age:):) Joe and I had some projects and did do them but lots more are not done yet. Planning this wedding ios ALOT of work….but FUN!!! Have a GREAT day. XO, Pinky
I have to say, I didn’t make to many resolutions at the beginning of the year. However, we have started on a journey with our adoption that we never thought we would be on. That has to count for something. 🙂
I tent to set goals though, and I am doing well at working toward those. Great reminder!!

Pinky…planning a wedding is the one and only goal you need this year!!! I’ve done a couple of weddings and I called the planning stage: The Year Of The Wedding…you’re doing great! And when the wedding’s over you need to kick back and REST girlfriend! xoxo
Phillip…you are on quite a journey my friend. Kudos to you and your wonderful wife…
i always look at my weight as what i need to work on. i also want to do better with the computer. have a good day. rose

Rose…I think ALL women look at their weight as something to work on!
you aren’t alone there my friend…xoxo
So ironic. My theme this year is friendship. Just finished Lisa Welchel’s new book Friendship for Grown-ups.
How’s it going? So many good things are happening. I’m feeling healthier in that area and at the same time Satan is attacking like crazy. 🙁
Hoping your Emma is doing well.
Michelle…I’ll have a look at the book, I’ve yet to find one that addresses women like me…
I’m learning soooo much and not one of the things are things I expected!
thx bunches for the thoughts about Em…xoxo
Life is worth a backward glance. Especially with the thought in mind of reevaluation. Especially if we see need for improvement!

Magnolia…I agree and girl, I always see need for improvement! xoxo
Life is worth a backward glance when we still feel the need for change.

Love the idea of a theme for the year…something that has been put in your heart rather than on your “to do” list. I will be remembering this…or maybe it’s not too late for 2010 🙂

Ugh, do I have to evaluate how I’m doing? =P Let’s just say I need to do a lot better! I guess the good thing is I have six more months! 😉
I did choose the word “steadfast” based on Isaiah 26:3. I felt led to choose that verse and word for 2010 but didn’t really know why until recently when my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer. I encountered the verse three times the week before she found out.
I’m glad you wrote about this today because I DID need to evaluate my list. I will pray and think about the rest of 2010. I think I’ll be more productive the second half than the first half. I think with my sister’s diagnosis and her scheduled treatments, etc. this year and our daughter’s engagement and upcoming wedding next June it will make me think about what is important in life. I’ve been thinking alot about priorities and perspective, you know?
Whew, sorry I didn’t mean to write a letter. 😉
