Hello friends! Thanks to all 200 of you who have so kindly LIKED my new blog Facebook page! If you haven’t would ya mind hitting LIKE in the little FB box in my sidebar? 🙂 Thank you ever so much ox
I found a really fun fabric to use to recover the chairs around the farm table. (Farm Table posted HERE) While I’m working on the chairs I took a few minutes to do a quick project that will help tie the chair fabric with the rest of the kitchen.
Adding a bit of burlap ribbon to this little table in the kitchen really changes the feel…
Here’s a photo of the table before…
Remember the burlap ribbon I used to make the table runner? HERE- I had a bit left and I thought it was perfect addition to the small drawers.
I simply put the ribbon on top of the drawer and penciled in my cutting lines-
After I cut the ribbon, I frayed the edges…just a little-
Then used Mod Podge…oh my goodness, it’s been a long time since I used Mod Podge-I’d forgotten how much LOVE Mod Podge!
Generously paint over the drawer front with Mod Podge and add ribbon pressing out the wrinkles.
Add even more Mod Podge on top of the ribbon, concentrating on the frayed edges and wiping away any Mod Podge that has gotten on the edge of the drawer-
It takes a few hours to dry completely-but even with the drying time this project was quick and easy!
Love it! And I recovered the chairs last weekend! Can’t wait to show you!!!
Have you seen any furniture with added burlap or fabric inserts?
Have a lovely day my friends!
