I’m so excited about this post!
I finally tried Behr Paint’s latest wonder…Behr Premium Plus Ultra!
Behr has come out with a paint & primer in one! Oh my goodness! Anyone who has painted over red or painted stained furniture will jump for sheer joy over this paint!
I had a color in mind and honestly I’ve been looking for this color for over a year. I’ve tried samples of bunches of colors and I’ve always been disappointed.
I went to my local Home Depot with this Easter egg and this gorgeous vase looking for the Behr Premium Plus Ultra because I trust Behr paint and I wanted an easy way to blow through a bunch of up coming painting projects!
I showed my inspiration pieces to the brilliant technician in the Home Depot paint department. She took lots of time with me and although she couldn’t match the vase and egg because of the speckles on the egg and the sheen on the vase she pulled colors that were close. We found a near perfect match but the more I looked at it I could tell it was too dark. So she mixed it at 50% …too light. She went 25% deeper and we tried again…BINGO! I could not believe how much time she took and how great of an eye for color she has…please look…
UPDATE: This was a custom color and the paint lid is long gone…I honestly thought the color code was the one in the paint lid above…Behr Zen is similar as is Behr Opal Silk…check both of those out if you’re looking for the color*** I recently did a table with Behr Opal Silk HERE…
This color is dreamy perfection peeps!
The Husband is helping me re-do my Craft-Room and we stole a couple of shelves from the basement to paint… I got so excited with the coverage of this paint that I kept painting things!
The Husband wasn’t certain he believed the paint would actually cover without bunches of coats…
After quick and light sanding on the shelves, one good coat and a second lite coat…The Husband is a believer.
I also painted a chair…and people, I’m not done. This is the BEST paint I’ve ever used and I’ve tried all the top Brand-Names.
(Almost finished with my Craft-Room! Can’t wait to show you !)
Behr Premium Plus Ultra Paint & Primer...you gotta try this on your next project Peeps. Seriously.
UPDATE*** This was my first time ever using Behr Premium Paint with Primer…guys, I love this paint so much it has it’s own Category on my blog! All Things Behr Premium Paint with Primer … head over there to see all my Behr Premium projects! xo

Good to know that the commercials for this paint hold up to what you found in using it. We are painting our bedroom so I think we will try this paint. Anything that cuts down my time of having to move furniture for several coats of paint is worth it.
Beautiful job!
Your blog is great! I always use Behr paint…can’t wait to try this. Thank you!
You have me so excited to see the rest Robin! I am so drawn to varying shades of this very blue! Amazing you found a color expert who stuck with you to get to the right shade… that store will do well by her.
Your fun room is looking so inviting that I don’t think I would want to leave, except maybe to enter the kitchen for some of your yummy cookies or cakes 🙂

I agree, this paint is fabulous! We remodeled our house 2 years ago and did everything with Behr. 🙂
Will we get a tour of this room soon??
wow!
you aren’t kidding! this is so much better then sliced bread.
that table is dreamy with all the details. and i am sure, those shelves weren’t the easiest to paint. i think sometimes the straight line stuff is harder. it shows my painting flaws. ha! {at least for me they do}

Behr’s Paint with Primer is pure genius. It’s an understatement when I say I hate painting. It’s way too much work for me to put on primer and then a coat or two or three thus the lack of motivation or desire to do any form of painting. I always wondered why they didn’t create a paint that had primer in it already. Almost resorted to mixing my concoction until this came out (Should’ve had the insight to place patent on this idea. Dang). I painted my wall over the weekend this beautiful morrocan desert color and it is simply gorgeous. Cut the paint time in half too. Definitely impressed and looking forward to buying more.
IS THERE A OUTDOOR PAINT AND PRIMER?
Robert…there IS! Behr makes an outdoor paint with primer! Check it out at The Home Depot!
I painted a room with Behr regular Cranberry splash and it has dried uneven can I use Behr with primmer included for the second coat? Thank you
Barbara…I would go into your local Home Depot and ask someone in the paint department…if you can, let me know! xo
You’ve got me excited for this paint, I want to go buy some right now!! A couple years ago I made the horrible mistake of painting my bathroom a chocolate brown, do you believe this primer built in will cover this up?? I’d like to paint it a nice baby blue this time around!
Lindsey…the Behr Ultra covered my really red kitchen!!! xo
The only problem I had with this paint isn’t really it’s own problem at all – I found a color made by Martha Stewart and Home Depot won’t use the Behr brand due to trademarkcopyrightthingamajigs. 🙁
I LOVE your blue paint color. I am on my way to look for paint for a shabby chic bedroom color. Can you share the paint color or formula? Pleaseeeeee
Heather
do you recommend paint with primer on new dry wall or should you primer it first with primer then paint it?
I’d use paint w/ primer on everything unless it’s furniture w/ an oil based stain that you’re covering! But the paint dept at the HOme Depot could answer the question of whether you need a primer at all on dry wall. good luck! xo
Just a comment on your “Behr Paint with Primer-Better than Sliced Bread”….
Really? Better than sliced bread isn’t saying much-I still prefer homemade from scratch bread! hahaheehee—-couldn’t help but add this
TrishaAnn…sooooo true! And now that I’ve been diagnosed w/ Celiac Disease, most sliced bread is poison to me! (I should change the verbiage!) xo
Robin, did you sand the furniture down first then paint it?? Also, did you sand it lightly after painting it?? Everything looks amazing!! I am so nervous about painting my daughters bedroom furniture, it is dark wood and she wants to go white glossy with a little worn look to it.. Suggestions please!!!
Mary Lou…I lightly went over the furniture before painting (sanding)-then sanded after it was completely dry on the places I wanted the furniture to look worn…ck out the post on painting my bedroom furniture-I had to use an oil based primer on that before I painted it. The stain was oil based so when I painted it with water based paint the stain bled through and drastically changed the color…soooooo, oil based primer will seal an oil based stain…xo
please please please share the color that you had mixed for the egg and vase!!
i have been looking FOREVER for that color
thank you!!!
Angie, I actually thought the color code was on the post in a picture…but that’s the lid for another Behr color I love : Zen …the paint was custom mixed and the lid is long gone but take a look at Zen and also Opal Silk between the two they are very similar to the color I used (especially the opal silk!) Good luck! ox
