Okay, in the interest of full disclosure, this girl likes chocolate too. But given the choice…it’d be books every time!
My latest Amazon shipment came yesterday! This is my idea of a great Valentine’s present!
There were so many wonderful book suggestions in your comments a few weeks ago when we did the Favorite Books of 2009 that I thought I’d post a few in case you’re looking for some good reads for 2010!
Today I’m showing off the books that were mentioned over and over in your comments. Some of these I’ve read…(Click on a book if you want to read an Amazon review)

I read The Help in January and highly recommend it. I almost mourned turning that last page. I adore the book, Same Kind of Different as Me.
I loved Water For Elephants and The Shack.
I liked Eat, Pray, Love.
The Glass Castle nearly gave me a heart attack. It’s a memoir and me and my worse case scenario personality nearly imploded while reading this!
And Wisdom Hunter and Crazy Love are hanging out on my Wish List on Amazon. I’m looking forward to reading both of them…
I hope this gives you an idea or two! And I’d love to know what you’re reading right now! Also…I’m curious, which do you love the best, books or chocolate?
Remember, book lovers are never really alone…happy reading Friends…
Trying to figure out which one I like the best. I would like to say for the long run the books but then again if one eats too much chocolate it stays for the long run. I would have to say….drum roll please…books. Chocolate, on the whole, is a temporary fix while books are “forever.” My suggestion? Get those two books out of Wish List territory and read them yesterday. I say that in love of course. 🙂

What a great idea–Valentine’s gift straight from Amazon. Love it! Just finished Thin Places by Mary DeMuth–spiritual memoir–loved it. I met her at the ACFW conference in Denver. Amazing lady. Gut-level honest memoir.
Thank you for the suggestions! Arrgh as if the list wouldn`t already be loong enough…;) 😉

So many great books so little time. I’ve heard wonderful things about The Help so I guess I’ll have to add that to the ever growing pile of TBR books.
I also enjoyed Water for Elephants, Eat, Pray, Love (Have you read her next book Committed???–great read–review on my blog), Glass Castle (absolutely heart breaking but a wonderful book), and The Shack –another great read.
Looks like I’ll be adding more to my wish list 🙂
Happy Reading!
We are in a life group right now with the book “Crazy Love” …..Absolutely life changing!!!!!!

I love to read, but I go in spurts. I enjoy the Beverly Lewis Books, I get into the “simple life”
Blessings for a wonderful warm day.
Books, books, books! What does it say about me that I’ve read almost that whole list? I’ve briefly heard a mention of The Wisdom Hunter and I will go check that out next. Just had lunch with a friend and we were consumed with talking about all of our favorite books! Thanks for sharing Robin 🙂

I would take books over chocolate for sure. Deep unto Deep by Dana Candler is rocking my world right now. My favorite Christian Fiction feel good books are the Mitford series by Jan Karon, By the way, Wisdom Hunter has two more books that follow, Jordan’s Crossing and Betrayal.

Books…all the way! I’m currently reading “The Sugar Queen”, which you had recommended last month. I am loving it so far!
I just read The Help, and like you, hated to see it come to an end! I absolutely love books. I’m just now beginning to have time to read again…I have eleven year old twin girls! Thanks for all your great suggestions.
