There are lots of things you can do with these pretty book page fall leaves…
I mean…book pages and fall leaves…how scrumptious is that?
The old pages give them a head start to looking aged and vintage.(And you know how much I love all-things-aged and vintage 🙂 ) The soft orange, watered down paint with just a touch of metallic make them perfect for a garland,…
Or to embellish the top of a book page pumpkin…
Or maybe even make a little wreath…
Even if you aren’t quite ready for fall, you may want to do a little project or two in preparation…so, if you have a second sweet friends…let me show you how easy it is to turn book pages into all-things-autumn…
——>HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED<——-
*Orange or Red Acrylic Paint (***I use DecoArt Americana in Burnt Orange)
*Metallic Paint (***I use Americana Multi Surface Metallic in Champagne)
*Old Book Pages
*Leaf template (this is easy to draw-or simply trace from your computer screen!)
*Wood Embroidery Hoop
*Double Sided Picture Mounting Tape
First Cut out your leaf shapes…then, put some orange paint on a paper plate and add water…(I also had my metallic on the plate but not watered down)
Mix the paint and the water and dip the leaf in the mixture…you can dip some of the edges in thicker paint and the center in more watered down paint to give the leaves a more interesting look…(See Video)
I did all of mine a little different…
when they were dry, I painted a little watered down metallic around the edges…this gives them a shimmery appearance — which I kinda like 🙂
No two turned out the same…but that’s okay right?
Now take your embroidery hoop apart …you’ll get 2 wreath forms out of one hoop!
You can hot glue your leaves onto the hoop but I used Double Sided Mounting Tape and I loved the way it worked! So easy- just stick one side all the way around the hoop…
Then remove the paper on the top of the tape, revealing the sticky surface on top…and place your leaves, here-there-and everywhere!
That’s it! Quick and easy…Don’t you love a quick and easy project? Sigh….
So if you’re on the side of : I can’t wait for FALLLLL! Have you been tucking away your summer stash of decor and replacing it with all-things-autumn?
(And if you are of the mind-set: I’m NOT ready for summer to end!!! …don’t be annoyed with me. I totally understand. I’m just tip-toeing into the new season sweet friends~ xo)
