Burlap candles…what a way to bring a little autumn warmth to your space…I know you’re probably not ready to let go of the lazy days of summer, but around here school is starting and you know I’m thinking about all-things fall! Nothings better than candles for decorating in the fall or any time of the year for that matter!
Do you guys remember when Pottery Barn came out with gold burlap-look candles? Well, here’s my little version of those babies!
I wrapped simple pillar candles and prayer candles (from the dollar store), in burlap ribbon…
I used Mod Podge to adhere the ribbon to the candle…
Let it dry…it takes a little while…
And then on the regular ribbon, I sprayed a light coat of gold paint on the burlap…
The metallic gold just gives the candle a little something more…
This is the easiest project my friends, the only thing that takes longer than an instant is the dry time!
Simple and pretty!
Sending you love today

I absolutely ADORE this one. You’re giving me so many ideas for this fall shower I’m throwing! Thank you. Love you!! xoxoxoxo
Julie, I can’t wait to see all the fall shower goodness! I’m throwing a fall shower too, we have to talk about it soon! ox
Love the candles and it will be a perfect look for my outdoor…though protected…battery operated candles from Target and Pottery Barn when it gets cooler here in AZ about the middle of October. I’ll spray paint the burlap ribbon I have and do a little stamping…bats and crows for Halloween perhaps. I don’t use real canals because of the extreme fire danger here.
OK…Judy, the bats and crows are a great idea~!!! Please give me a head’s up when you do your candles I want to see your take on them! Sending love ox (and I really need to get a bunch of battery candles!)
I meant “candles” in the last sentence…lol!
what a great idea….love it

Robin, Fall is my FAVORITE time of the year and I’m so looking forward to it! I love this idea for my candles. I have TONS left over from my daughter’s wedding and this is just the perfect idea to spruce them up! Thank you!
Tracy, you and me BOTH! I am so excited to decorate and entertain this fall! Let me know if you do the candles I’d love to see them! Everyone always adds their own personality to projects and makes them even better! xo
Hello Vicky and Seasons Greetings! I just found you today. I have to say, I absolutely love this candle holder. I make something similar, also made out of burlap. It’s a twist on a burlap candle by crafter Terrence Moore. It is called a burlap candle cuff and I like to put my own spin on it. I love the metallic gold and must admit in the future, I will add a touch of this gold and silver, also. Great idea! Thank you so much for sharing this. It is fantastic! I’ve now subscribed. Take care and continued success 🙂
Ashley, I’m so happy to meet you! I love the idea of adding silver too! Looking forward to connecting again soon my new friend ox
