As far as fall projects go, this burlap pumpkin is a keeper! It was easy and it’s ever-so cute. (I added a video at the end in case you want to do this project, the video will help 🙂 )
You don’t have to cut burlap, which as you know can be messy because I used burlap ribbon! My pumpkin came from Walmart …so it’s cheap AND easy!
Here’s What You’ll Need:
*Styrofoam Based Pumpkin-(mine was a pumpkin from Walmart )
*Burlap Ribbon
*Floral Pins
*Glue Gun
* A couple of fall leaves
If possible take the stem off of your pumpkin…the stem of the cheap Walmart pumpkin was really easy to remove.
Start your ribbon on the bottom using a floral pin to hold it in place…wrap it all the way around and use that original pin to secure both pieces of ribbon…
At the top of the pumpkin you’ll need to twist and add a pin…
With another piece of burlap repeat the process…
Continue with new pieces of burlap until the pumpkin is covered…On some of the pieces I turned the edges under just to make them look neater…
When your pumpkin is covered cut the last piece of burlap and pin making sure all the burlap is secure…(I added a bit of hot glue in a strip down some of the edges to keep them flat)
Cut a circle out of burlap to cover pins and glue on with glue gun…
Make a hole in the top of the pumpkin where the stem was, I used an X Acto knife…
Put hot glue in the hole and put the stem back in, then add some glue under the base of the stem…while I had the glue gun out I put a thin line of hot glue down some of the edges that were lifting and I glued on a couple of fall leaves from a garland…
This little collage gives you a few more pics in case you need them…
I put this sweet little pumpkin on one of The Husband’s DIY Risers~She adds a little cuteness to the kitchen don’t ‘cha think?

Another great burlap project Robin and it looks so pretty!
Thank you Robin this is so cute. I love turning these ugly little pumpkins into something pretty .
I love the natural, rustic look of your pumpkin. Adorable!
Sharon, I love that we can get such a rustic look from something so simple like burlap! xo thank you friend
Okay, I need to confess something. And when I tell you this, I don’t think you’ll be my friend anymore.
I didn’t know they make Styrofoam pumpkins!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve never, no, not ever noticed one. :/
What did Ricky’s BFF do to make you laugh?
I love the burlap pumpkin for two reasons:
1. It uses burlap
2. It’s not orange!
I’ve been toning down my decor a bit this year so as not to overwhelm the senses with “too much orange” — love this great idea for fall decor using earth tones!
Love this project. I think (maybe) even I could do it. It looks so darling!
I love it, Robin. It’s so cute, and looks like a relatively quick and easy project- my favorite kind. Hope you’re having a great week. 🙂
I love these!!! They came out so cute and perfect for fall! I am totally making these asap!
I love it! And I like how you glued down some of the edges to make it “cleaner.” As always, I’m pinning it! 🙂
Looks great! Cute and easy, those are the best kind of crafts! 🙂
Kristen, I totally agree! Cute and easy, those are the best kind of crafts! ox
It turned out really gorgeous! It’s perfect for fall and even for Halloween, too! Love it!
