Happiest Friday! Come in, come in! Let’s peek at Christmas in the dining room 🙂
First of all…the dining room is not one of my finished rooms. I still need curtain panels and chair covers, which are on the 2013 to-do list.
With that said, let’s talk Christmas! I wanted to use my pastel decorations in the dining room so I knew it would have a different feel than the den. Instead of focusing on my theme of Snowy-Woodland Christmas, I decided to go with an Icy Christmas in this room. When I think of the few ice storms I’ve seen, what comes to mind is: A winter landscape frozen in time. I thought Christmas in the dinning room should feel hushed and quiet.
The Husband says it this way: “Your Christmas theme is really all about inclimate weather!”
What can I say, he’s married to a southern girl who longs for snow 🙂
Since I don’t have my chair covers yet, I added a bit of silver ribbon, icy pine cones and a bit of bling to each chair!
Of course there are these graceful deer…I’ve managed to put beautiful deer here and there all over the house.
These are some of my favorites because they sparkle! Dollar Store vases and candles give a nice glow. I gave the clear vases a bit of a faux mercury glass paint treatment posted HERE)
In the cloche are my Gramma’s pink Christmas balls. She used them for years and then passed them along to me knowing how much I looovvve pink!
The wreath over the buffet is one I used on the front door at the old house every January…It has an icy winter look, so it’s perfect for the dining room.
Dollar Store boxes with pretty ribbon…
And my yarn & Christmas ball wreath in pastels over the little blue hutch~
The dining room Christmas tree is definitely a sissy tree…but oh how I love it!
The dining room opens to the entry-way. I carried the softer colors right into the entry using my pastel village and tiny Christmas trees on the foyer table…(Tiny Christmas Tree tutorial HERE)
See those little white deer? I’ve become a bit obsessed with these lovely creatures since we started seeing them every week when we walk on the trails.
Do you add Christmas to your dining room?
~Hoping your day is full of beauty my friends~
(If you want to drop in on Monday, we’ll look at Christmas in the rest of the house!)
xo
Robin I love this. It is understated and pretty! I love Christmas colors but pastels are growing on me everytime you show your pictures. Thank you………
Ohhhh the courage and creativity to break from the norm red and green and go pastel!!
I’ve read this twice and still in awe. Will always be. I guess my favorite thing are the pink Christmas balls from sweet Gramma. (Hope I spelled that right.)
Love how The Husband says you decorate in the Inclement Weather theme. Too funny!!
GORGEOUS dining room! It is so inspiring. I love it!
The pastels and icy look are gorgeous in this part of your home! I just love the way you pulled it all together and those pink Christmas balls are to-die-for. The simple ribbon sash on the chairs has inspired me to try something new this year, too. Looking forward to the rest of the tour this next week! Have a wonderful and relaxing weekend.
Beautiful. Love your grandmother’s ornaments in the cloche. 🙂 How special. I have some old ornaments of my mother-in-law’s in a glass vase. I love them!! 🙂
Beautiful! I love your cloche! I love pink and your room is soft and cozy. This room has inspired me to change my house -:) My hubby is kind to put up with my pink things 😉
I am always amazed at how talented you are with decorating.
Your home expresses the love in your heart for all things beautiful. Thank you for sharing your beautifully decorated home!
Merry Christmas~

So beautiful. I’m sure that whatever chair covers you choose will be amazing, but I have to say that I like your dining room without the chair covers!
