In our house, Christmas in the kitchen is decidedly simple. If any room calls for simplicity, I think it’s the kitchen! With so much holiday cooking and baking we need space to slice, dice and roll out Christmas cookies!
The one exception …
This little gingerbread village. I’ve always wanted to make a few gingerbread houses and use them to decorate. My gingerbread house decorating is lacking but it was fun! I put everything on a beautiful wood slice so it’s easily moved when we need the island for workspace or entertaining!
But the rest of the decorations are simple like this sweet little garland…
And a few touches on my open shelves…
I’ve also been collecting vintage Christmas cards this year and I tucked them in several rooms. These Christmas cards are from the 30’s, 40’s, 50’s and 60’s…
The ones from the 60’s bring back memories of my childhood, I love them.
And nothing is prettier than an old wood bowl full of Christmas baubles …
Tiny clementines and mini candy canes fill my mother’s beautiful Friendly Village bowl…
On the breakfast room table I used a magnolia garland and a few wood candlesticks …
A few glittery pinecones from the chandelier add a bit of sparkle…
I love pomander balls and have a few that give off a wonderful aroma …
And finally, this ornament! I usually hang my favorite new ornament under the kitchen window
This year my sweet owl stood out as the ornament I wanted to see every single day …
Do you add a few Christmas decorations to your kitchen? If so, do you keep it simple or beautifully extravagant?
Sending love my friends~
