I added a bit of Christmas in the playroom…
The felt Christmas Tree is up and getting decorated and redecorated! (Posted HERE)
And I pulled out all my children’s Christmas books! We have quite a little collection!
Because I believe, if you want to give a child a love of books, you have to read to them. Every. Single. Day.
And it sure helps to make sure you have beautiful children’s books. I get lots of them at the Goodwill and other thrift stores, they don’t have to be pricey.
And because the books are beautiful and because I want the tiny girls to think it’s just normal to have books in every room, I put them out and about…
…here, there and…
…everywhere .
~It doesn’t take long for children to learn that books are a treasure~
If you have little ones, do they love books?
~Hugs and smooches my friends~I pray your weekend is full of merry-making~
We LOVE children’s books here ~ and so do my grands. I just decorated our playhouse, come by and visit! I love your felt tree, I”m sure the girls love to decorate and redecorate. SInce our house is outside, I don’t put the books out there, but I do decorate the boys and girls rooms with lots of Christmas stories.
Sue…I’m coming to see your playhouse! Someone mush read to your grandkids! xo
We don’t have grands but MY cildren loved books and I did read to them everyday. My son, when he was 2 would memorize his little books and then sit and pretend he was reading them! XO, Pinky
Pinky, how sweet that your little boy would memorize and then pretend to read 🙂 makes me smile xo
I love books and have loved to read my whole life. I read to my children and my two youngest(teens)picked up on my love of books. They both have a bookcase full of books in their rooms and look forward to getting time to read. Books are one of the best gifts you can give a child! xxoo
Eileen~I love the way you said it…”books are one of the best gifts you can give a child” xo love to you my friend
I want to crawl into that pretty bed and take a nap! I’ve always said….I could survive in prison, if I had a good stack of books.:-) Love this post, Robin.
Julie, I’ve thought that exact thing about prison!!! 🙂 xo
