If you were making a list of your favorite Christmas things from childhood, would lights glowing from every little nook and cranny be in the top five?
My mom and dad “knew how to keep Christmas well”. As a child, our home was full of the sights, smells and sounds of the season, every year Christmas finds me trying to recreate that atmosphere in my own home.
Even in the middle of the day, tiny lights make everything magical…and one easy and inexpensive way to bring that magic to any space, is by adding strings of lights here, there and everywhere.
These sweet Christmas Jars are perfect as a centerpiece or tuck one on a bookshelf or an end table to light up a dark corner…
The best part is… they really are easy. Remember the Five Minute Fall Centerpiece I made with these same hurricanes-HERE? Well it only took another 5 minutes to get them Christmas ready! Got a second? I’ll show you how!
For this project you’ll need
*A hurricane (the ones I have are 2 pieces…I found them at Target)
*Fake Snow
*Snowy Trees and branches (my branches came off a floral pick)
*Tiny LED lights on a timer
I added some snow and my tree—wrapped it in the lights and because my hurricane is 2 pieces I could sneak the cord out of the bottom-but you can easily run the cord up the top and use one of your branches for camouflage or just put the battery box on the bottom, underneath the snow. (Remember, the lights are on a timer so you won’t have to bother with the on-off switch every day!)
Lastly, I added the icy branches…
The LED lights and the flameless candles are on a timer set to come on every day around 5:00…
Adding a touch of Christmas magic to your space doesn’t have to be expensive or take a lot of time sweet friends.
I’d love to hear about your favorite Christmas things from childhood~ Do you incorporate some of those things into your decorating?

Robin- Your house looks beautiful- just perfect for fun times with family and friends. You have it right about sights, sounds and smells !! My Mother always did that and I try to do the same in my house for my family. One thing that is silly is my Mom always had ribbon candy in a crystal dish. I loved to look at it . I still miss my house but enjoying my beautiful living room . You inspire me year round. Blessings my friend.
