Nothing puts me in the Christmas spirit more than walking through a town all dressed up for the holidays sipping hot cider. Christmas towns give me all the feels of the season and they serve as the perfect backdrop for making lifelong memories with family and friends.
I pulled together some of my favorite Christmas towns that I’d love to visit , and a few places that I’ve visited already!
The first one is Dahlonega Georgia. This charming little town is about an hour north from me and I’ve visited Dahlonega many times.
Christmas in Homestead, a Hallmark movie, was filmed here last year!
Woodstock Vermont is another town that I’ve been able to visit. When I was there the town was blanketed in snow and I’ve never felt the holiday spirit more.
Portland Oregon is a city on my bucket list. And going in December might be a good idea!
I haven’t been to Branson Missouri either, but from what I’ve heard, they know how to celebrate Christmas.
As for places outside of the US, I have to start with Canada…
Quebec City is a town I’d so love to visit one day, as a matter of fact, I dream of taking a trip to Canada and visiting lots of places!
Winnipeg Manitoba in Canada is another Canadian city I’d love to visit.
I’ve had the privilege of visiting London and it’s one of my favorite European destinations (although I’ve only been a few places!) I went in early November so I got to see a lot of Christmas but I suspect Late November would be even better.
I mean…really. London at Christmas, perfection.
Although I’ve been to Germany, it was in the spring so I didn’t get to see a Christmas Market. But one of these days…
On our trip to Germany we took the train to Paris and stayed for a few days, while Paris was fantastical, we didn’t go in December so Paris at Christmas is still on my bucket list.
Belgium is known for their Christmas Markets. I’d love to visit one at some point.
Lastly, there’s no place like home. We live in Marietta GA under 10 minutes from the square, and nobody does Christmas like Marietta.
This is Glover Park on the square…
Last March, Hallmark came to the square and filmed Christmas Wishes and Mistletoe Kisses…
There’s also wonderful tradition in Marietta The Marietta Pilgrimage. 2019 will be the 33rd year. The pilgrimage is a tour of six of the many historic homes just off the square. It’s a tradition that my daughter Stephanie and I love.
These are a couple of the homes on the pilgrimage from years past.
