These guys are just run of the mill clothespins. Plain in every way. Once a household necessity, clothespins are hardly used anymore.
But when you take them apart and put them back together, they are something more…clothespin snowflakes!
And, I think they’re rather charming with those intricate cut-outs…
This cutouts that are completely unnoticed until…
You take that clothes pin apart and put it back together again…
Ever felt like that? Like life has upended you…taken you right apart? I know I have…
If this holiday season finds you taken apart…broken, be encouraged my friend, there is One who will put you back together.
“He heals the brokenhearted…”
And in the putting back together, there will be beauty that wasn’t there before.
These simple snowflake ornaments remind me of that truth…I would love to give one to all of you who feel broken – because I want you to remember…He heals the brokenhearted.
Just in case you have an extra hour and might want to make a few of these, they’re easy. Older children can make them and younger children can help by painting the snowflakes.
Here’s What You Need
*Wooden Clothes Pins
*Glue gun
*String
*Paint
*Sandpaper
First take the clothes pins apart…(8 clothes pins for each snowflake)
Hot glue a loop of string for hanging…
Now…be amazed. Using hot glue, put the pieces together like this…
Keep gluing until you have a snowflake…
Isn’t it fantastical that all those intricate cut outs were hiding in plain sight in that plain clothes pin?!
Make a few snowflakes or a whole blizzard…Paint them…
When they’re dry, sand over the edges…And every time you look at your snowflake, remember- God heals the broken places…
Sending love my friends ~ xo
(And saying a prayer for anyone who might be feeling broken today)

Love these clothes pins. When I read your message, I knew it was a reminder one day this week, I was thinking about my “list.” I thought I have so much to do today. I need to accomplish a few things on my list, so I can have some peace in my life. Then my thought was interrupted, a new thought was interjected by the Lord. Yes, but you need to meet with me today, so you will have peace to get through the list. If I tackle the urgent, I might have peace for a few minutes, but His peace is sustaining.
Love the message with the snowflakes. Thank you Robin.
Chrystal, thank YOU for taking a moment to tell me my friend xo
These are truly my favorite posts! They say so much to me and I have a great take-away every time. LOVE the simplicity of the project- one that any of us could so easily do!
Vicky -as always…thank you for encouraging me my friend – sending love to you and your boys (and of course Superman)
Robin – I think I subscribed to your site through Pinterest because I love so many of the crafts you show. Today, however, I read what you wrote about the broken hearted and It confirmed this was the site for me. I totally agree with your blog and yesterday had just read and urged others to read this passage. Thank you
Tannetta, thank you for taking time to introduce yourself and to leave me some sweet words of encouragement- What a gift you’ve given me tonight my friend xo Merriest Christmas ~
Hi, Robin! I just came across this post and I’m biting my nails right now!! I throw away these afternoon a lot of old clothes pins, can you imagine?? I don’t usually get rid of anything but I did it, gggrrrr. Pinning to remember!
I would love if you could share this with us at the party we host each Tuesday, which is called Two Uses Tuesday.
Cheers,
Pili
Hi Pili! I’m happy to meet you my new friend! Isn’t it great that clothes pins are so cheap! You can get some more for a couple of bucks and maybe make some for a winter craft! xo thanks for inviting me to your party! xo
