I’m finally ready for my Craft Room Reveal!
Actually, I’ve been ready for a couple of months, but I’ve been so busy doing projects in here that I could never get everything cleared out to take pictures!
The room is an upstairs bedroom with a wall of windows. Even though this isn’t a big room, the natural light sold me. I used Behr Silver Drop on the walls-it’s a beautiful light color backdrop that allows me to use lots of accent colors.
Because of the size, every element in the room had to be functional. Because of my need for pretty things to inspire me, every element in the room had to have a little charm!
Function and charm…it wasn’t as hard as I thought!
Designing a space where I could keep control of clutter just meant that there had to be lots of storage …because if there’s one thing that kills my creativity…it’s messy clutter. (Are you CS? That’s short for Clutter-Sensitive :))
So the BIG Craft Table has lots of little built in cubbies for storing things… (I posted about the table HERE)
The top of the table might just be my favorite thing in the room…it’s pretty with it’s shabby-chippy vibe and it’s totally durable because it’s LAMINATE FLOOR! I’ve been doing projects on it for months and it’s a perfect surface! (the information on the flooring is HERE)
Mike built the table and I couldn’t be happier with all that room to work…(It’s painted in Behr Opal Silk)
I added bookshelves on either side of the windows, they balance the room and help out with both storage and charm.
To add a little interest, the shelves are painted a pretty blue-green and the backs are lined with old book pages… (I mostly use Reader’s Digest Condensed Books…because an abridged book is just a step above cliff notes in my humble opinion…) The pages are held in place using double sided tape and tape-runner-adhesive…
The table takes up most of the room so I had to make sure the walls had personality and function.
On one end of the room, I used vintage-style frames for my Book Page Inspiration Board (HERE) and vintage-look frames for storing Washi Tape & Baker’s Twine (posted HERE).
On the other end of the room, Mike made a paper holder for my pretty paper and I dipped doilies in watercolors to get this pretty Doily Wall…(HERE)
For seating, I have four barstools painted in fun sea-glass inspired colors, in case any of you wants to come over to do a project one day! (Bar Stools are all Behr MARQUEE colors…details posted HERE)
And here is where I work…I’m a little bit like Sheldon on The Big Bang Theory, once I pick a spot…I can not sit anywhere else! This chair is just right because I can see outside while I work…
While I don’t sew every day, I do spend time with my sewing machine at least once a month. When planning the room, I had to decide if I wanted to make my work table smaller to allow for another sewing table (which would be lower so I could reach the pedal) or if I wanted the bigger work area. Mike and I agreed that we wanted the giant work surface so we came up with a sewing solution! Mike made a super-cool rustic stool!
The little stool is great for holding the pedal in just the right spot when I’m sewing, but it’s also a GREAT foot-rest for any time I’m sitting here working!
Oh, and the lighting…I told you earlier I wanted to make certain there was plenty of light in this room but I still wanted a something with a little personality. Again, we put our heads together and Mike and I came up with a rustic frame for a fantastic LED overhead light! This light is just amazing guys…it gives off the BEST and brightest light! I love it!
The one thing I didn’t show you was the wall of closets. I’ve got loads of storage inside and I’m working on a little project that I’ll show you in September!
Well…that’s my Craft Room/Office space! Thanks for having a look around sweet friends ~ ox

Very Nice love all the room you have to create!!!
thanks so much Tammy! Have a great day! xo
Love Love Love your craft room and all of the storage. The sea glass colors add so much personality but at the same time gives it such a calm feeling. Great job.!
Vikki, thank you bunches my friend…calming is exactly what I want in every room ! ox
What a beautiful room, I want to steal that table, might just be a bit hard carrying that to Australia! xx N
Nikki, I know you could make one of your own! And honestly, this table is going to have to be dis-assembled to even get it out of the door! xoox
I love, love, love your craft room. Our craft/office closet is just that a closet. It is stuffed with stuff and I can’t concentrate. If I sew I have to haul the machine out to the dining room and then I have a mess there. You did a great job of planning.
Marisa…thank you friend…ummm, are you sure you need a dining room 🙂 you could always turn the dining room into your studio! xooxox 🙂
I love the room especially the colors. You did an amazing job as always!
Diana, you’re so sweet and soooo encouraging. sending love friend xo

Beautiful!!! CS…….that describes me perfectly. I’m borrowing that one!
Tammy…RIGHT!!!???? Clutter REALLY brings me down! I’m glad I’m not the only one xooxox
I read this trying to pick my favorite thing. At first it was the “bulletin board” and that’s doesn’t do it justice, but I love that board with strings going across it. Then it was the baskets and cubbies. Don’t you just love the word cubbies? Then it was the stool Mike made. Had to read that twice–that he made you a stool! How sweet!! Then the wooden light fixture stole my heart.
Can you tell? I ADORE this room!
Thanks so much J…I’ll tell him you like the light! I love it too 🙂 you’re so sweet as always xo
what a great space for crafting or sewing. do you sew or is that an embroidering machine?
Laura, thank you! I sew but it is an embroidering machine (as well as a regular sewing machine) it belonged to my mama…she love embroidery …xo
I love the colors in your craft room. It is pretty and has style but not so much stuff that it takes away from the serene feeling. Perfect room to make things. The stool is so clever ! You and Mike make such a great team!
Jen…thank you my friend…You soooo get me, as you know, I need that serene feeling 🙂
The stool really works! and after 30 years we are a pretty good team …sending love xo
Wow, simply beautiful! Now if I could only finish cleaning out the junk in my craft room so I could even think about making it pretty…
Judy…Oh my goodness…I threw away soooo much junk! I couldn’t believe I’d accumulated all that stuff! I have to say that since I purged, I have looked for several things I threw away! I actually had to buy something over again!!! Thanks friend xo
I love, love, love your craft room, Robin! The colors, table and light are perfect! I’m sure this room gets your creative juices flowing. Enjoy and may you have many hours of joyful creating in this lovely craft room! xxxooo
Thank you so much Eileen, those colors really do inspire me…everyone has certain colors that help them create don’t you think? What are your favorites? sending love my friend xo
Yes, I agree! I would have to say that my favorites are earthy colors such as greens and browns. I also really like anything made with copper. Sending love to you too, dear friend.
What a fabulous room!! I’m sure you love spending time in there!! Love the idea for the light fixture! 🙂
Gina, thank you honey!! I’ll tell Mike you love the light fixture…he did a great job hiding an ugly box! ox 😉
Wow! Wow! I am overwhelmed once again by your creativity!!
The Craft Room is beautiful ! The organization and thought you put into every detail is amazing!
I enjoy your posts and projects. You should produce a book featuring all of your ideas for those of us less
talented in the area of crafts and organization!!
Brenda, you’re so sweet and so encouraging….thank you – truly. Sending love xo
Love it!! I’m doing my craft room & have it 95% done. I’ve just got to clean it so I can do the reveal. Like you I keep working in there.

This room is made for creating! Beautiful! I especially love your comment about the book pages mostly coming from Reader’s Digest books.

Robin,
Your room shouts “YOU” all the way! What a wonderful space to create. I am in the process of moving my thing from downstairs into my room, trying to decide where I want what… 🙂
Enjoy your beautiful area!
I’m catching up and oh boy you don’t disappoint! How is it that as much as I’ve followed all these years- you never cease to completely amaze me! The laminate floor on top of the table is genius- I can’t think of a better surface. Ohhhh- such loveliness! Hugs friend!
Love, love, love this!! I want one just like it! 🙂
