Really, this was one of the most fun showers I’ve ever done! Cutie Pie Baby Shower with all manner of pies!!! Big pies, tiny pies, savory pies, fruit pies, creamy pies and nut pies! Everyone took home a peach or apple fried pie as a party favor!!!
My firstborn baby is having a baby!
Our 3rd granddaughter is due in Mid-May, Bethany had her 1st baby shower last weekend!
{I posted the baby quilt I made: Disappearing Nine Patch Quilt: HERE!}
*****
The theme was Cutie~Pie…and we had pies, pies and more pies! Several people helped make pies…these are just the ones that were at the party early!
12 pies in all!
I got the idea for a Cutie Pie Baby Shower while watching the movie: The Waitress!
To get our inspiration going my daughter Stephie and I went to our favorite fabric & quilting store, Red Hen Fabrics, and found some cheerful fabrics to jump-start us on the colors and the “feel” we wanted! Fabric is such a great jumping off point for decorating.
I like to decorate for a shower with things the mom-to-be can take home and use…I bet you do that too!
I made a little quilt-square cloth for the table that goes home with Bethany for her to use as a picnic blanket this summer!
We made a little banner that says: Cutie Pie! It also went home with Bethany…we thought maybe she could use it in a play-room one of these days! (my little wreath slipped just before I took the picture…woops)
I used lightweight letters and craft paper from JoAnns to make a Cutie Pie banner for the dinning room….this may be used to add cute-factor to Baby B’s closet!
We kept everything simple…
Flowers here and there and a few pieces of vintage fabric…
For favors Stephie got pastry boxes online and we got our local Chick fil A to make 15 fried peach pies and 15 fried apple pies!
There is nothing better than a Chick fil A fried pie! I think only the Chcik fil A Dwarf Houses make fried pies..I’m so sorry if you don’t live near a Dwarf House…sigh.
We had 4 savory pies…
*Brunch Pie, *Ham & Brie Pie, *Veggie Pie, *Chicken Pie
(I’ll be sharing some recipes with you soon! )
And we threw in a Spinach & Strawberry Salad for crunch factor!
For the sweet pies we had some fun…
*Tiny Fruit Pies, * Heirloom Fudge Pie Recipe HERE, *Pecan Pie, *Toll House Pie, * Marshmallow Mermaid Pie Recipe HERE, Creamy Peanut Butter Caramel Pie Recipe HERE), French Coconut Pie, Lemon Pie…
A couple of kinda fun tips…
My daughter Emma designed an easy label for the pies in Photoshop … I used glue dots to fix the labels onto upside down cupcake liners to keep them standing!
We realized the day before that we couldn’t come up with that many pie servers so we called a grocery store bakery and they kindly donated pie servers! To cover the name of the supermarket which was stamped on the handle, I covered them in cute trim! Not all grocery store bakery’s would be so kind…if we had to order them, I love the one’s HERE at the Webstaurant Store – it’s a great place w/ a great price!
These little events make memories to be tucked away and pulled out when we need them most. The afternoon ended too soon but the memories will last forever…love my girls (from left) Emma, Bethany, (me), Stephie…
ps…My Bethany…pregnant or not, the girl loves her shoes…

Beautiful, every little detail. I so love milk glass and it warms my heart to see your pretty flowers in a milk glass vase. Could you all be any tinier and cuter? I’m leaving with a craving for pie now- so cute!
How fun. Everything turned out “perfect.” I love all the details…the quilt, banner, vintage material, flowers in different vases and of course the theme and pies! I love the picture of you and your daughters…you’re just adorable! 😉 My daughter is having a bridal shower in May so I will be helping a little (hopefully just a little since she’ll be bringing seven of her friends home that weekend so I’ll already have my hands full with houseguests! =O =P)

She is a gorgeous pregnant gal and her polish matches her shoes how darling! Love the pie theme and since I haven’t had breakfast I’m getting a little hungry looking at all those yummy treats! I’ve never eaten at a chick-fil-a before. I hear people go on and on about them. We have one in Des Moines so maybe I will take a trip and check it out!
Love all your details and the banner!
Megan
Every time I read you have grown up kids I am so shocked because the pics I’ve seen of you, you look like a kid yourself! Thank you for the great post, I’m throwing a bridal shower for my daughter soon and you gave me some great ideas!!
I missed the cupcake papers as “propper-uppers.” Soooooo much love, my friend, in every single corner of your home and heart.
Still remembering the details….Unforgettable.
What a gift(s) the Lord has given You~
Am saving my pie crust for the brie recipe. I must have it again!
Was the banner over the fireplace paper or cloth? I am throwing a baby shower in two weeks and that is such a cute idea!

As ever, thanks for sharing!
Robin,
Your strive for perfection paid off. I’m sure that everything was not perfect but we did not see it. To us, it was perfect. I’m sure, to your daughter, it was perfect.
I loved the “Cutie Pie” theme! I will have to file that one away for a later date!!

What a clever idea for a baby shower. I love it. I will have to remember this one the next time my sister in law has a baby (she hates cake.) It would be perfect. And I had to say how much I loved the “Product Placement” shot! LOL! Great!
Very cute! I love the whimsical feel with the tradition of pies. Plus, the use of cupcake liners as table tents was incredibly cute and creative!
