A few months ago I got an email from Cutting Edge Stencils asking me to do a product review, I was excited about doing a project with stencils and after looking around their website I started getting a bazillion ideas!
I’m going to be doing a big project with one of their gorgeous stencils in the very near future, but a few days ago I did a quick little project with one of the stencils they sent me, an oh-so-pretty stencil of delicate tree branches and leaves.
For the paint I used Folk Art Metallic Taupe…it’s one of my favorite color craft paints!
This pillow is so easy to make.
Simply decide how big you want the front of your pillow to be and cut your fabric twice that size.
You’ll be folding the fabric in half so one half of the fabric is the front of the pillow one half of the fabric is the back of the pillow!
Lay the fabric flat on a hard surface and stencil the fabric using your choice of stencil, craft paint and a stencil brush.
When the pant is dry, fold right sides of the fabric together and stitch TWO of the three open sides-turn right side out and iron under raw edges of the side that’s open.
Stuff the pillow through the open edge and then hand stitch the opening together!
(Iron the edges if you need to-just don’t iron over the paint!)
Here’s the front…
And here’s the back! The pattern overlaps just a bit!
Perfect for fall decorating don’t cha think? I can’t wait to show you the bigger project I have planned with my Cutting Edge Stencil! And bonus! They will be hosting a give-away-right here… coming soon!
Have you started your fall decorating?
