Hello my friends!
Although, I’ve got a super easy Christmas ornament for you today…this rustic easy twig star, please don’t think I’m rushing you. If you aren’t ready to think about decorating for Christmas, maybe pin this for next month!
But here’s the thing…if you want to make any ornaments, this really is a nice time to start! I’m working on a super fun tree for our screen porch.
There’s a video at the end of the post for those who like their tutorials in video form!
I want to have a tree with the C9 lights from my childhood so I can show our tiny grandchildren how completely delightful they are!
And since the tree is out on the porch, I thought it would be fun to make all the ornaments! Today, can I show you how quick and easy it is to make an easy twig star?
I found this snowy twig bundle at Hobby Lobby. At the time, I had no idea what I’d do with it… There were lots of twigs in that little bundle, and the creative side of my brain started imagining all sorts of little projects to do with twigs! (of course you could easily go out in the yard and gather some twigs!)
I used a hot glue gun to glue the pressure points…
Hot glue the twigs in stages like in the photo..the last photo show where you should be putting hot glue – You’ll have to put a drop of glue on the twigs-hold the twigs tight until the glue is dry–then move to the next twig.
I used plaid flannel strips to tie the points. Simply tie a thin fabric strip around the points of the star…
And hot glue it in place… If you want, add another strip of fabric to the top for hanging … I love these rustic stars! And I can’t wait to show you the rest of the tree!
