Hope your weekend was full of good things my friends.
We’re still in the project phase around here with a list a mile long. BUT, we’ve decided to make an effort to slow down just a bit and enjoy the summer.
The Husband, who is always uber productive, painted the inside of the garage and put checker-board floor tiles in the room downstairs where we keep the puppies when we’re not home. (There’s a bit more to do in that room but I’ll show you soon!)
Those were smallish projects that left us time for a date night, a couple of long walks, church and a “Sunday Supper” Cookout with a couple of our kids!
As for my projects…I got glutened on Thursday night and on Saturday I had to have some down time, so my productivity was embarrassing. 🙂
I’m going through before and after pictures of the remodel on Stone House Lane in case anyone is considering taking on a project in the near future! Today is a small but important part of the house,
The entry is very much a part of the living area in this house, so we felt it had to have the same “feel” as the den. Originally the flooring was tile… 90’s style. We added hardwoods and stained them to look like the rest of the downstairs. (Surprisingly, you can’t tell where the old hardwoods end and the new hardwoods begin!)
The light fixture was rather dated too so that had to go. (Also, the master bedroom is on the main level and had carpet which we changed to hardwoods)
The picture below is from the real-estate website when the house was on the market and shows the light I decided to use in the entry. The fixture was originally in the dinning room but we have an antique light we wanted to hang in the dinning room, so I took off the little shades …
And The Husband hung it front and center in the entry! It saved a bunch of money to use a fixture that we already had and after all is said and done, we love it!
I’ve got 2 rooms upstairs to paint this week if I can stay clear of gluten!
~ Have a grace-filled day ~
PS~I’m rereading a book I read (twice) in years past, What’s So Amazing About Grace by Philip Yancey who is one of my all time favorite authors. I looked up his website and blog and left a tiny comment a couple of weeks ago and this morning I found a comment from him!
I’m still smiling.
It’s going right into my gratitude journal 🙂
